Hi~~ Just joined whilst reading up on Blue Foot (pied bleu). I live in Switzerland with many mushroom hunters, although I haven't been brave enough to try. Pied bleu (and many others) are in the grocery stores. I bought some of the pied bleu and threw them in my salad. They left a metallic taste in my mouth, which is why I started my Online search. Are they better cooked? Thnx

The mushrooms you brought are Lepista nuda, they are a good edible and are not the same as Psilocybe caerulipes which is also known as "Blue foot" and is hallucinogenic, it would be illegal to sell those in the grocery store! inski.

Yes you should always cook blewits, you should cook any wild mushrooms thoroughly.
You can find Lepista (Clitocybe) nuda on here...

-------------------- The World is like a ride in an amusement park, and when you choose to go on it you think it's real, because that's how powerful our minds are. And the ride goes up and down and round and round, and it has thrills and chills and is very brightly colored, and it's very loud. And it's fun, for a while.
Some people have been on the ride for a long time, and they've begun to question, 'Is this real, or is this just a ride?', and other people have remembered, and they've come back to us and they say 'Hey, don't worry. Don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride.' and we KILL THOSE PEOPLE.
