I'm not pro-suicide, but it definitely is not the cowardly way out. I think it's the bravest thing a person could do. No matter what you believe about the afterlife, you don't know for sure if you're right. When you take your own life, you're taking a step off of the edge of the universe and you have no idea exactly where you'll fall.
I also don't think that it's selfish. It's selfish to want someone who is tortured by life to continue to endure the pain so that you don't have to feel sad. I hope no one here is thinking about killing themselves.

Yeah. no matter how depressed I've ever gotten, I've always come out OK.
All it took was time. And a little corrective thinking.
These days I have such an appreciation of things, I can be completely sober and be fucking high out of my mind just taking in good outdoor scenery. It's like that connection with everything, unexplicable yet ever-so-present that you can't ignore the beauty.
Like, analyzing everything about everything, yet appreciating it's simplicity.

Yeah. That's the way I look at it. One of two things will happen:
1) You kill yourself and there is nothing. No spirit, no afterlife, nothing. You are nothing, no more.
or
2) There is a spirit and you join the eternal love of the universe that is all knowing and non excluding.
Either way I'm cool.

Well a very suspenseful and intense [not to mention a little crazy] way to end your life would be by hiring a hitman to take you out.
And not for a dinner and a movie, either.
Imagine leaving the house, never knowing if you'll be sniped halfway to your car. Or if your car had been sabatoged and have no idea who that suspicious character following you is.
For all you know, you could crawl in bed, only to be rudely awakened by a barrage of silenced bullets to your chest. Or perhaps your icecubes were secretly poisoned.
It would be the ultimate way to die when living on the hardcorest edge of them all.

One time I got hemlock to experiment with a certain ointment which would cause a falling feeling. If I would have taken enough of it, my muscles would have been weakened so much that I wouldn't have been able to breathe.
But, of course, you would essentially suffocate like you held your breath indefinately, and I'de imagine that would be quite uncomfortable.

Dead a band member from mayhem(i think) killed himself with a shotgun to the dome and his suicide letter read "please excuse the mess" His band then later took pictures of the body and used as the cover of there next album. then they took pieces of his skull and made a necklace out of it for them to wear. pretty hardcore

An injection of PotassiumChloride seems rather good to me too... Stops your heart immidiatly...
An injection with air... Yep plain old air... Don't remember the exact dose anymore but I can look it up if no one else knows it and posts it...

Extrapolations from canine studies suggest 400-500 ml air is required to cause death in the average human. 3 Recently, a case was described in which there was an injection of 200 ml air into the right ventricle and pulmonary artery during attempted pneumopericardiography. 4 A much lower volume can prove fatal if a right-to-left shunt (cardiac or pulmonary) allows air to bypass the lungs and enter the systemic circulation. A small air embolism entering the cerebral or coronary circulation could then be fatal. In the absence of a right-to-left shunt, death occurs because of obstruction of right ventricular outflow and the pulmonary circulation with global hypoperfusion, resulting in right and left ventricular ischemia and sudden right-sided heart failure. When air embolism is fatal, postmortem examination of the heart must be performed under water to confirm the presence of air in the right ventricle.

KCl poisonings aren't pretty... most people with excessive amounts of KCl have some seriously unconfortable shit happen before their heart stops. Air emboli aren't fun either. They tend to travel causing various areas of ischemia prior to death... Imagine various parts of your bady going painfully numb then returning to sensation when the emboli moves... owie.
If you had access to pharmacuticals, lethal injection cocktails are supposed to be completely painless. A combination of Versed, Fentanyl, and tubocurarine would undoubtly be quick, painless, and clean.
Sick subject though...

I can tell you how NOT to go though...
Last year about this time a large load of very strong lab grade "glass" crystal meth was smuggled in to the town I live in. Most of the meth heads here are used to low grade, impure, garage crank that isn't anywhere near as strong as this stuff was. So we started seeing a lot of meth users coming in for OD's, mainly the IV users, and they'd be fucking wigging out. Unfortunantly, a meth head who apparently was a borderline schizophrenic got ahold of some of this stuff, mainlined it, and proceded to freak out. At some time during this mans freak out, he decided it was a good idea to sit down on his gas range, turn on all the burners, and burn himself to death. When we got him he was already dead, but what was amazing was that he didn't die from the burns... he died when enough of the flesh on his ass had burned away exposing a large artery in his thigh and then bled to death...
That's ugly.

Damn.
Someone on here said, suicide is what happens when pain outweighs the capacity for dealing with pain. Bravery or cowardice really doesn't have anything to do with it. For some it's simply the only way to make the pain end...
