Yeah I'm quite sure the Greeks figured it out a long ago. They even had the circumference of the Earth almost exact.

I just did a lot of reading. Sounds like this guy might be an energy con man, who found his way to New Jersey after exploiting France.

Everyone knew the world was round. The Greeks knew it, the Arabs knew it, the Indians knew it, most people in medieval Europe knew it. The church even said that the world was round. Read the opening of Dante's Purgatorio (part two of the Divine Comedy, and the sequel if you like of Inferno) It sais that purgatory is found on a rock in the sea on the yet unexplored backside of the Earth. (nobody knew about Leif Erickson, and Columbus would sail out some fifty years later)
The story of Columbus, the egg and the mocking sailors appeared first in a nineteenth century novel about Columbus, and was such a good yarn that it displaced reality in the popular imagination.
Let's face it, Sailors saw ships and shores disappear over the horizon on a daily basis, from there it's not a big conceptual jump to see that the world is round.
As to the original story, if hydrinos actually did exist, you'd think that they would show up occasionally outside of this guy's lab. They have never been spotted in nature, in a universe that is at least 14 billion years old with every imaginable condition in it, from near absolute zero to millions of degrees in the centers of stars, atoms don't turn into hydrinos, but on this guy's workbench in a little beaker, lo and behold there the little buggers start shedding their excess energy that they have been saving for a rainy day since the Big Bang.
The guy sounds like a crackpot to me. An elegant crackpot who can attract venture capital, but a crackpot nonetheless.

my friend, there are plenty of observations and theories that disprove any or all of the variations of quantum theory. some are bunk, some are not. it's not news and it doesn't really matter, scientific theories are constantly changing and being discarded. if you thought quantum theory was the here to stay then you missed your history lessons and the point of science.

His book can be downloaded from http://www.blacklightpower.com/theory/bookdownload.shtml
I don't know enough about physics to say if it works or not. Maybe some of you guys do, though. Let me know once you've checked his calculations.

The supposed method for producing this energy involves the splitting of a single hydrogen atom by a catalyst: IMPOSSIBLE!!! Hydrogen is only a single proton, and thus, cannot be reduced by a chemical process, which only affect valence electrons.
How can this asshole call himself an engineer?

wait, so that's what he's saying?
But of course we should confirm or deny the results with more tests.
Doesn't quantum mechanics tell us that the observer determines the outcome of the experiment?...

Of course, being the dilligent scientist that he is, I'm sure this guy submitted his work for peer review.

Actually he did. He's published over 60 reports on the "hydrino" idea so far.
Problem is, the rest of the physics community doesn't agree with him
