Woke up this afternoon to find this on myspace...insane really. just thought id help spread the word.
"...The helicopter dipped lower and lower and started shining its lights on the crowd. I was kind of in awe and just sat and watched this thing circle us for a minute. As I looked back towards the crowd I saw a guy dressed in camoflauge walking by, toting an assault rifle. At this point, everyone was fully aware of what was going on . A few "troops" rushed the stage and cut the sound off and started yelling that everyone "get the fuck out of here or go to jail". I went to a rave in a National Forest once that got shut down by theMan.
They swarmed in and started using intimidation tactics to get people to scatter, saying they would arrest anyone who didn't leave.
Some people tried to stand up to them, saying that since it was public land, we had a right to gather.
I was tripping on LSD, and the pig in charge came over to me and started looking in my van, without asking for consent, just started shining his light in and sniffing his nose.
He asked me "What's that smell?" and I replied "incense". 
I was too fucked up too drive home, so I got this guy I met at the rave to drive me... he and his friend had driven in on a big-rig truck from Miami, into the woods and almost got stuck in the mud.

Damn that's fucking ridiculous!
If you know that person you should tell them to lodge a formal complaint if they don't press charges against the city/state/whoever sent the SWAT team in. His rights were violated, no ifs ands or buts about it.

I know I live in Utah and went to this rave. It was my 1st rave and it sucked ass, scored a lot of shrooms though.
Cops just sent me home never searched me, THANK GOD.

I can't believe those idiots dressed all up in camoflauge like they are in vietnam or something. All they are doing is walking around. I guess it shouldn't be a surprise that they showed up though. Raves are usually a place you can find drugs. Then again, you can find them anywhere. But raves have that reputation......

I must say I know Utah has a lame reputation, but Salt Lake City has sooo many raves at leaste once a week. If you goto the record store you'll see a wall full of promo's and shit and brochures to take home.

That's really weird, I went to a rave last night and the theme was jungle or something, but everyone was in camo. Just a strange coincidence I guess.

i heard about this this morning, the news is spreading through the electronic music comunity pretty quickly... damn shame what is happening. i hope that the aclu can get involved in this.

it doesnt surprize me at all, I used to trip going to raves years ago anyway in the Salt Lake area... drugs and Utah do not mix, that is what happens when you get all these religous people that are goveneors and mayors..and the majority of the people are religous..kind of sad really.
