Most of the cops I've met are fairly decent people, some are assholes though. Overall I like cops but have very little interaction with them.

Some are wankers, some aren't. I've never had to deal with a dickhead cop so I'm impartial.

I think people have to keep in mind that some cops are VERY good people and would never arrest someone for a stupidity such as cannabis or psilocybe mushrooms. Although, sadly, a lot of them seem to be uneducated and very robotic (incapable of change and compromise that is.). I disagree with certain laws much more than policemen themselves come to think of it

Its like politics. Its a necessary evil but the type of person that wants to pursue that career usually does it to indulge their ego, to have power over people.
Or at least thats the impression they give me.

I've had to deal with cops since I was 7 years old. I feel bad for them as people. They are programmed to always find something wrong with someone but the ones I've dealt with have "caused" things to get way worse because they are dick heads. I've also dealt with really good cops, I think it all depends on the individual, but the system as a whole is NOT RIGHT! FUCK THE COPS AS A WHOLE, but there is good cops.

FUCK COPS. I know it isn't rational to think they are all bad, and i know they aren't. I know that they do help maintain some amount of order. But
EVERY
SINGLE
run in i have ever had with a cop they were the biggest douche possible. Not in the "they're a cop trying to catch a criminal they have to be this way douche", just they were fundamentally tools in everyway.
And its not even cuz i was doing drugs everytime and they were trying to catch me, when I got a ticket for driving he was a douche; when i got a ticket for disorderly conduct he was a douche (and the disorderly conduct was a facebook video the school suspended me for, this was a school cop). The one time i did get caught for weed i got stopped for "being white", although i was doing nothing wrong driving or was even smoking at the time. Forced me out the car and found a gram in my pocket, then proceeded to search/impound the car and arrest me.. douche.

Some of them are okay/tolerable/just-doing-their-job.
However, most of the cops I've met are on a serious power trip.. and for that they get two thumbs down.

State cops I've dealt with seem professional. Small town cops and reservists have almost universally been pricks. I worked with this one reservist who used to brag about sneaking through the bushes at a park to catch teenagers smoking pot. What a douche-bag.

As much as I don't like aspects of law enforcement. I recognize the need for them. Can you imagine all the backwoods inbred ignorant illiterate mutant one tooth garbage of the world unrestrained?

I'm sure a lot of cops are pretty decent people, but it sucks that the bad ones often seem to be able to act with impunity. There are probably also systemic factors that lead to the hiring of a greater proportion of conformity-loving meatheads than you would see in the general population, the drug war being a big one. If you see the drug war as a tragic waste of life and resources, you're probably going to be less likely to want a job where you will be expected to enforce those laws on a daily basis.

The city one's around here dont bother me.. there on the lazy side. I buzz by the same ones every day at 55-60 in a 45mph limit and they never move.. Too much paperwork i guess.. No on the oppisite end, state troopers are at the opposite end of the spectrum ... total dicks. I used to get pulled over every other month for the window tint on my firebird. I started keeping the paperwork saying "its been tested and its legal" with me for these assholes.
