May I ask why you read in here, the spirituality/philosophy/religious forum instead of the science forum if it gives the best of accurate and coherent information?

MODS!!!!!! There seems to be a lot of confusion related to this forum about what it is for. The adminstration has provided a science forum for shroomery members who are interested in the sciences.

This forum is for memebers interested in spirituality, philosophy and religion.

Why do so many genuinely not interested in it read and post here?

Help me to understand mushman. I have zero interest in bird watching and you will not find me at a bird watching forum. Whats the incentive for you to come here based on what you said in your last reply?

The majority of interesting discussions concerning science happen here.
Besides... I never said I didn't like discussing spirituality and philosophy. You came up with that a priori idea.

Even if you think it is baseless speculation, inacurate and incoherant? Why would someone do that?

I can't think of a reason not to read and post here if you are interested in these areas. This is the BEST forum on the internet for it.

You didn't sound very interested based on the comment you made about spirituality versus science. Then you reiterated and said that you are anyway.

I agree that the more interesting scientific topics spawn in here and not the science forum.

Wonder why that is................

Oh well, thanks for replying to my questions. Enjoy yourself! :hairmetal:

Those are just my opinions, I wasn't trying to burn spirituality or anything.

ja, I've seen you come in and out and your always cool here. You did give an honest answer to the post question. I forgot what the post was about

It just read to me like posting this in OTD

"I find the pub to be a more friendly pub like atmosphere then OTD"

Then you'd get replies like , "then why don't you hang out in the pub dickhead hippy lover"

Then there would be a picture posted of a 500lb mans ass.

That forum cracks me up.

Once, I wondered what the shroomery would be like if it was one forum only. There's a wild thought!

this implies that science is a symbolic system. is it?

I would say so, yes.

Theories are not what is actually happening...they are symbols we use to describe what is "happening".

right
that is what I said in the beginning
science is a language (SYMBOLIC SYSTEM) but it is also a method of expanding revising and preserving its archives for better accuracy and fairer descriptions of WHAT IS HAPPENNING.

newspaper worthy simplifications, inane television coverage, and gearing information to the lowest common denominator leads to confusion and unscientific language.

IMO using science as THE tool for everything is very foolish. Science only exists in the normal level of consciousness. So science is great for learning about our 'normal' reality... but what about the thousands of other positions of the assemblage point? Science only has a reference in the fixed position, it is completely useless anywhere else.

it is completely useless anywhere else

What tools ARE useful elsewhere?

the assemblage point is just one man's speculation, or scientific postulate - but it creates disconnected language and does not fit well into formal scientific archives nor does it effectively revise what is in the archives, accordingly it has not progressed "scientifically" - no good tests have been devised (tests or experiments are how the scientific language expands and revises itself).

A proponent that is interested in this can redefine "assemblage" in terms closer to what is understood and can then make tests to integrate some of the ideas related to assemblage into the archives of things that are testable. Much of the lore of assemblage is not well integrated or well enough explained in its own terms for testing.

This is possible. I do not reccommend walking away from what you find interesting.

So far many interesting but half baked ideas are not yet ready to insert into scientific archives.
