A forum idea - Gaming forum

I know we have a lot of forums, but this one idea might be worth a real consideration if there is enough interest. I would like to hear what people think about this.
The idea I have is now since we have 'subforums' that we can create a general gaming forum with subforums for popular games.
Thoughts?

The gaming forum itself be an OTD subforum?

No. More like:
Main forum "Gaming forum" Sub forums such as "online gaming" Or "1st person shooters", then when you go into that subforum you can have specific subforums for games such as World of Warcraft, etc..

I like the idea.
-------------------- "Of all tyrannies, a tyranny exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It may be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end, for they do so with the approval of their own conscience." - C.S. Lewis "I would rather be exposed to the inconveniencies attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it." - Thomas Jefferson

I guess I don't see the use for a gaming forum.
HOWEVER, is there a way you could combine the technology forum AND a gaming forum?

Sorry, I meant for my first post to be worded as a suggestion.
Why aren't we taking advantage of these subforums?
The gaming forum could be a subforum within OTD, along with one for goatses, one for tits, one for scat, one for puppet accusations, one for inane posts by mastershake.
The community forums could be more organized.

Agreed. There are so many gaming forums on the net already - that are well developed and stock full of gaming addicts.. so I don't see the need for one at this site, where at best people will post ocassionally about new mainstream games, and at its worst, where people will just bitch on about challenges in our "Arcade" section
Gaming is a big subject yes, but it is a niche subject that I believe the majority of our userbase does not involve themselves with (even though I'm sure quite a few do). If we try to effectively cater to every subject imagineable.... well, we'll need more bandwidth and lots of funds allocated towards marketing, in efforts to populate all these small and generally unrelated forums so that they actually provide worthwhile content and not just idle chit-chat.
If a gaming forum were to be added, I could only see it as a subforum for one of our off-topics. If it were to gain immense popularity then I suppose it may be able to graduate to its own forum, but I just don't see the need when there are so many better resources for this type of discussion elsewhere on the 'net.

exactly. there are sooo many great gaming forums out there, what would the point be for one little subforum on a mushroom-related website?
