 humidity for casings?

If three cakes were cased in verm and 50/50+ almost three days ago and there is signs of mycelial growth what does the humidity of the terrarium need to be? Is 95+ to high for the mycelium? And should these sites of growth be covered with more casing material.

I'm relativly new to this but from what ive researched humidity levels from 86-92 are good for casings wheras they should be higher for cakes and if there are spots of mycelium coming through the surface they should be covered with sterilized casing so that the surface cases at almost the same time. ( all from the 50/50 tek)

Thanks lizard.
I've followed the 50/50+ tek to the "T". Hawk doesn't say anything about covering the trays with plastic just to place them in the aquarium and that covering new growth with casing material is an option. He goes on to say not to mist the casings during colonization. I have read here also that those humidity levels might be a little low. To keep the casings moist without misting them I am keeping the R/h high. I assume that when initiating pinning dropping the R/H will give the fungus more of a shock?
Just concerned that everything has been done correctly.

I too was concerned about those humidity levels but i think it will all depend on how much moisture is in your casing.I tested my rubbermaid container for 2 weeks prior to using it. Using a digital temp. control heater in the room to raise and decrease temps. I controlled the temp. in the container to 84 deg. with 90% humidity. Once i added the two casing trays the humidity increased to 92% and the walls of the container began to condensate. I squeezed the casing mix until i could hear the water draining out.That perlite w/ water sure does the trick i'll tell ya. I NEVER liked the misting idea and didnt feel like introducing the whole humidifier set-up.As ive read here so often and agree with so much ." Simple is the way to go". Most of the time it seems as though we are all over doing it just to be safe.Sure i like a large window of error but i sleep better knowing i may not always have to.

Covered vs uncovered - if theyre going into your closet to recover after casing then cover. if theyre placed into a humidifed terrarium then dont.
95% is the mark to shoot for up to fruiting, then it can fall by 10% if you like. tho ive never accurately measured mine, as long as the walls are wet its good enough for me (hehe)

McMan or anybody what should the humidity be for cakes in the fruiting chamber? Is around 98% ok?

Well for shits and grins a cake was birthed after 100% and 4 days. The humidity dropped to 75% over night for an hour or two due to the humidifier drying. I checked the cake after that and it still felt moist. The humidity is back up now. But the cake looks more cottony than moist is it okay? I assumed it would look like this but the 75% thing scared me.

can u use a normal humidifier.. i have only ever heard of a cool mist setup, i have a humidifier that sprays out a thin mist and was wondering if i could just use that seeing that i dont have the money to spend on a cool mist right now.. if not i guess i will just use perlite.. its a fairly big growing chamber so which would be better??
