Spores- Ecuador, B+ , Amazon , Ban Hua Thanon Spawn- BRF/VERM PF-tek, 2 fungifuel bags ( was 3, lost one due to rodents =p ) Sterilization procedure- Wiped counters down with a 4/10 bleach water solution. Sprayed some lysol in the air. Boiled the jars for about an 1:30 hours and let sit over night. Opon injection i wiped the needles with alcohol, did not flame. First jars were injected 7/5/2004 and the last injected 7/7/2004. Jars were then placed in a dark grey rubbermaid container. During the day the temp in the container hangs around 87f and at night around 76f. These pictures are from today, 7/13 Note: I have 3 more jars under my bathroom sink to just test out. I think they have cobweb cuz over night i have what looks like 40% spider web stuff on them.

7/15 - jars in my rubbermaid show lil to no improvement. Colonizing going slow, However the jars under my sink are almost 40% colonized. Im having a hard time deciding if its cobweb or myc im looking at. Here are the jars. They have been under my bathroom sink and have colonized really fast. i noticed alot of water build up on the side of the jars. Not sure if the white stuff is myc or cobweb. Does cobweb colonize? I decided it was cobweb. I`ve taken 2 cobweb jars and one not yet colonized jar and put them in our horse field with some poo, verm and straw.

Looks pretty cobwebby to me. And yes, cobweb will colonize a jar.
I notice that you didn't use a dry-verm layer at the top of your jars. It might've helped prevent the cob.

Actually all my jars have the dry verm layer, the jar that looks a lil low i slacked and ran out of verm/brf mix so i said what the hell and went ahead with it anyway. But now i know under my sink isnt a good place to store jars. No contams in my rubbermaid yet. I lysol the air, wash and wipe my hands with alcohol everytime i mess with my rubbermaid jars. Thx for the reply. Didnt think anyone was interested =) Got a question for ya- Can i re-use the jars that had cobweb in them after i wash them? Or should i toss the jars out as well? They do make good cheap drinking glasses..

I think you should build an incubator for some better colonization results.

7/16 One of my fungifuel bags has some myc growing in it now. I built a incubator for my jars so they will keep warm at night. On the incubator tech it says your top container will float untill you put your jars in it, then it will sit down. That wasnt the case with mine. I had to sit two 35 pound weights on top of the top container for it to sit in the water without floating. Went to walmart got a Presto Canner, a fish tank heater and some finch seed. Local nursery i got some medium grad verm and brown Rice flour (which was really expensive, like 5 bucks for 2 pounds) at a health food store i found. Goin to start my Second batch soon and experiment with WBS. My first time pressure cooking was kind of scary. Was waiting for it to explode =/ My incubator All the crap i bought 101.93$ - teh wife is gonna be mad =) 7/19 Inculator built with two tubs and fish tank heater. A steady 84f. My surviving fungifuel bag has exploded with myc. Im debating to shake it or not. Think i just leave it alone =p. My first PF jars are comming along nicely, the second PF half-pinters show no sign of myc yet. WBS jars are showing no sign yet. Im kind of worried cuz some of my PF jars are only colonizing on one side. Should i put them on there side? My incubator FungiFuel bag, Strain = EQ

7/23/2004 I have two pint cakes in the fridge dunking and put one in my fruiting chamber. This is my first fruiting but i think i did it right. Rolled the cake in damp verm and put some on the top and bottom. Sat it on a jar lid in the chamber. My FungiFuel Bag is almost 90% colonized, i have 12 other jars showing myc today. The pint jar i went ahead and put in for fruiting. Did i put enough verm on it? My cakes dunking in cold spring water, gonna let them sit over night in the fridge. Notice the Frozen water jugs in my PMP. The best i could think of to keep the temps down. My first casing, incubation day 1, verm on the bottom and jiffymix/verm on top FungiFuel bag, 90% colonized with EQ strain

After reading some of the laws on mushroom cultivation in the police state that we have here in the USA (land of the free) i have decided to stop my grow log. I dont know how secure this website is about giving up user information but upon request to do so i doubt that someone i dont know would stand up for me. I would hate to do time in jail and be torn from my wife, son and my family because i decided to grow a few good times with my wife. Its a shame this day in age when a person doesnt have the RIGHT to decide what goes in there body. Im not a killer, Im not a drug addict, Im not a thief, Im not a criminal. Seems the power mad judges and political figures in the united states consider me a criminal that deserves to do hard time because i decided to try and cultivate a certain kind of mushrooms. Thx for the hobby, i am now a friend of a friend that has a cousin =p

No one would bother busting a hobiest growing afew oz. I live in the us and have had an outdooor grow journal, and shroom grows in my house an dback yard, its not like were seting up shop and moving pounds, its all for persomal use and the feds understand. Even if you are growing a bit more then you can your crew can do and your selling some as long as theres no problems with what you do with the money or any fights your not at risk.

7/26/2004 upgraded the pod size, cakes/casings are getting more white. I dont see any pins yet =( The cakes..I dont think i was suppose to verm on em since there in the poor mans pod? Will this fuck anything up? Do you think this is enough light? Its a floresent fish tank light. I painted the sides of the pod blue to keep prying eyes off. The temp stays pretty stable, my humidity reader on the bottom sux tho =/ I love my country!! Canada sounds nicer tho =) 7/28/2004 Still nothing =/ A possible pin? 7/28/2004 6:30pm est. Still not a sign of pins, i have 3 or 4 of those fat white knots tho. 20 more PF jars are almost 50% colonized. Waiting for the mushrooms is like the hardest part in growing so far for me. My fruiting chamber is 76f and my humidity gauge says 83%, im sure the rh is a lil higher tho. Atleast 90%. PIN LIL SHROOMIES!!!!! My casing as of today

7/29/2004 All of my cakes have the blobs on them now. I think i see a blob with a brown tip =). I was going to birth a 1/2 pint pf cake with amazon strain when it turns out i couldnt get the fckn cake out of the jar. I tryed breaking the jar to get it out...the jars seem really strong. I was out of the lil baking pans so i got into my wifes gladware and got some casing action going on. My 2nd take at casing, my 1st attempt still in the pod. Notice the lid with verm in it rdy for double end casing..o well =/ 1/2 pint crushed amazon2 thx to ralph rdy to incubate, look at my mess! I ended up having to clean the house.. UPDATE =p My very first pin!!!! Hard to spot, shitty pic sry The fungifuel bag with EQ The back of the bag, when should i pin the bag? When its COMPLETELY white right? My first casings, no signs of any progress. Growth has stopped it looks like.....

The one on teh right looks like greenmold but its unclear, shake up that bag. If you up to it you can soak and pasturize some straw and manure in your oven and get allot more shrooms in a tote or bucket then in the bag, its almost fullproof, just dont overmist.

Ya the green isnt there, its my camera and me lowering the quality in fireworks. However, the cake with the big blobs has some blue/green on the top of the myc. Could this be from over misting? Ive been misting 4 times a day with h202 and water. Thought i read some where over misting can cause bruising. Ive seen green before and the stuff on my cake isnt thick and as dark as the green ive seen. Think its bruising. Im stopping misting. (it prob doesnt need it aw)

7/31/2004 Everything in my pod has alot of pins, the mold scare was just bruising and its gone =) Again most of the blue is the reflection off my pod and my camera sucks. My casings have pins all over them, cant really see from the pic tho. Here is the troubled cake that keeps bruising

That looks more like green mold than a bruise. Either way it's nasty looking.

Well it was a nice trip. I ate the 3 largest i had and boy did i under estimate how strong these lil guys are. Before long the walls were melting around me. Gonna wait for the pinset to clear out and hopefully get enough for my wife and me to share the experience. My son found the grow so its gotta go. Been fun =)

Well, I`m already drying half of em. I expect close to 1/2oz dry first flush. Gonna try and get 2nd flush out of the cakes and 2 casings. Hopefully they pin before i gotta pack the pod! I got like 7 days for a 2nd flush. They sure are small tho. I think i picked them a lil early but the potency makes up for it. I took around 20grams wet (i intended to have a very light trip just to test the mushrooms) the other day and i havent tripped that hard off 2 hits of good acid Heavy visuals and i just totally lost reality. I looked in a mirror and the images just kept transforming as my mind took snapshots of everything. Sounds seemed to take form in the air and bounce off the walls. The physical side effects were close to none. I expected a racing heart and high blood pressure but all i got was a great trip and a mind blowing experience. Gonna up my dose with the wife this Saturday night and see if i can find some religon.
