Gotcha. Should I remove all the pins currently on the casing? I have some that will be done in 3 days or so. Do you find the casing stays together well? I don't want the thing to fall apart on my or anything. One more thing, how long should I soak for? Distilled water?
Think I can get it back in my tub easy enough? It does fill the thing up very snug along the sides.

Yea you should remove all the small aborts on the casing... if there growing pins just leave them, unless your going to dunk, in that case yes clean the casing off. Yes casings stay together very well, there like a block that would take some bad handling to break them apart. There pretty sturdy for the most part, specially after a couple of flushes. I dont dunk casing, i just rehydrate them with a spray bottle until it doesnt soak any water up. IF your dunking, id say that 12 hours woul be perfect. Is the casing that dry yet? Just sqeeze the thing in the tub, it will fit. If anything its only got smaller, and will be not much of a problem droping back in the casing tub.

Cool, sounds good. I am not sure how dry the casing is, but pulling 1500g out of it probably took a fair amount of water. The top layer is lookin pretty dry. Would it be bad to soak if it is still actually wet (since I don't know how to tell of the straw is actually wet). I think dunking would probably be the best for the best second flush?

Yea pulling that many grams of mushrooms probably has taken out most of the water. Dunking would probably be a good idea for you.

Yup, fanned three times a day. The only humidity is the casing its self and misting the sides of the container. I feel no reason to change it. I hope I inspired you to try one of your own, the fruits are worth it. I have two gallon ziplocs holding 4.71 dry ounces right now, the rest were enjoyed fresh and some lost in water weight conversion I think.

I have had trouble with the wet/dry conversion too. I think Im going to figure 95% water next time.

With the wet ones factored at 10% I got about 5 ounces dried. I can live with that. I think I ended with about 1600 wet grams, so I am at 91-92% water, not bad.
Dunking as we speak, will remove tomorrow morning before heading to class.

Thanks DannyBoy. I took my casing out of the dunk tank, drained for 8 hours, placed it back in the container and recased the rough spots. Hopefully we see some activity in less than a week.

Update, I have new pins coming up again! The casing layer was so wet after I took it out of the dunk, but it looks like things are going to be fine. Pics when they are bigger.

Looks like dunking paid off! Check out the pin set I am getting for second flush!
These are going to be monsters!
A second flush from one of the cup, 12g wet for the two... not horrible for such a small casing.
Think flush two is shaping up nice?
