I don't put polly in my top holes at all unless I'm going to be out of town. I run a fan at the other end of the room and really only need to mist once every day or two.

I'll try that from fruiting, saves me a lot of time adjusting little by little every day . Have you tried the whole spawning with poly thing?

I always tape my top holes while my tubs colonise but they get some air from the bottom holes that I cover with two layers of eco felt but don't cover with tape.

Is that eco felt the same as the EZ felt everyone has been using instead of poly?
I hear it's not as adjustable but gets the job done

It's kind of like EZ felt but much thinner. I stopped putting polly in my bottom holes because I always had fruits growing threw it.

So I'm just going to keep doing what's always worked. Oh and I don't use CVG anymore. Just CG. Fuck verm. I grew for almoste a year before I ever used verm and my subs did just fine.
This makes me happy to hear as I just ran out and really didn't want to have to buy more, it's expensive here and I don't like working with the stuff. You just hydrate a brick nothing else? How much water each brick?

My fucking cats keep pulling polyfil out of my bins. It's like a never ending game of whack-a-mole and I'm fed up. I started locking them out of the kitchen where I keep the bins but it's a huge pain in the ass. I'm open to suggestions that don't involve killing the cats, yet. I don't know how if explain that one to my kids. The kitchen keeps ideal temps and gets good sunlight too!

EZ Felt or ironed poly over the holes.

I saw somewhere on this site where someone made these magnets with round cut outs. They used ironed polyfill, then glued it to a magnet, then glued the magnet on the inside of the hole. They put the full magnet on the other side of the bin, so it was closed when it needed to be and it could be opened without a problem. The only downside I see to this is you probably won't be able to dial in your tubs to adjust for airflow needs.

Boil two teaspoons of black pepper In a cup of water Until it dissolves. Mist the poly with the pepper water before you put it in. It's how we keep my gf's roommates cat off of things.

It doesn't work. One cat in particular is no one's bitch. LOL. I have considered making cylinder adapters to fit my monotubs that I can stuff with polyfil, but keep the cat from removing it.
