You can just tape it. I have tons of cracked tubs taped together.

Yeah I taped the tub I made last week because of cracking and so far it seems to be doing just fine. I also used that same 1½ inch spade bit and didn't manage to drill a single non-cracked hole... definitely going with the heated pipe method next time even though burning plastic sucks
