I don't know if this is really the place to post it, I guess I'll post it in that identification thread or whatever, too. But I came across this Publication It's a pdf, and it's a comprehensive list of where you'll fine liberty caps, what terrain is good, bad, what plants grow in areas with them in... You get me.I think it's definitely worth a look
I figured for new shroomers, like me, this would be a good place to start to avoide any unnecessary questions (i guess).

Safe

Props for this, read through it, looks to be a massive help

Ran out of space on my upload thing :P another tin full on top of this

My cinctulus collection is growing bigger, seem a lot harder to come across though. Got another 4 fattys yesterday, should be able to sample the effects soon.

They are definitely being found in Wales, I don't think it's quite kicked off yet, still not been much rain where I am.

Tony (in west wales i think) was finding them quite early on.

Conditions are just about right in the SE but nothing today, had a nice little walk though, came across this curious looking tree

Has anyone had any luck in the south? Talking sussex/Kent areas.
I'm looking forward to a fruitfully season this year as weather conditions seem optimal! I've seen SE has had some luck so hopefully this area is ready!

Still a bit early for the New Forest I think? I had a look last year but I think I was a little too late and only found a handful in the end (not enough). Hopefully this year will prove more fruitful now I know a little more about what to look out for thanks to you guys.

Assuming this is a Lib, it's the only one i came across - a little bolete too!

Numerous other mushrooms around the forest tho

Hi there everyone. I'm a complete newbie to this but have been out today and would be uber grateful for help identifying my mini-haul.

Here's what I brought home:

The ones above the pen are the ones I think are libs, the three which are lying horizontal I'm not sure of. I picked the ones below the pen simply because I'm learning what *not* to pick as part of what *to* pick. Everything below the pen is already in the bin.

These are the three I'm not sure of:

Another question I have is, are my finds of a typical size? They're smaller in size than I'd expected. I haven't done this before so maybe they're not? I got them from a very public park in the midlands BTW so perhaps mine are small because somebody got the bigger ones before me?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Everything above the pen are Liberty Caps, nice eye for it like i did when i first looked for this species.

The bottom pic, 2 of them are liberty caps and the smallest one is too messed up to tell, but you can either A: throw it or B: add it to the batch you won't get ill off anything that small i know of anyway there's not any lookalikes that would do that in the UK., especially not off one tiny shroom.

Your libs are all different sizes, typically this is what happens, you can get some very large one's if you're there at a perfect time though. They're normal sized.

Here's a few large ones, these are what i'd call abnormal yours are the norm. enjoy these terrible webcam photos from my first hunts for this species.

Hope this helps.
