I broke 8 cakes down by hand as small as I could, put the top layer on so it wouldn't be exposed, decided that I'd through in a few extra cakes so after mixing again I didn't have a top layer. I haven't seen any weird spots or anything. I only lifted the lid a total of 3 times for about 1 minute total to snap a quick picture. I only opened it far enough to get my hand in.
 
The first picture is the short side with the handle, 2nd is the long side.

I cant really see much in the picture but I'd still fruit it. its knotting up and everything, it tells you it wanna fruit.

Mono has been put into fruiting, and cakes have been re-dunked and rolled.
    
The last pic is of the pins from that jar.
Also no noticable smell besides fresh mushies, and I could see the side of the sub since it shrunk and it does look more colonized than what I thought. Probably closer to 75-85% though. Cased with field capacity wet verm. Super stoked.

I think I found a contam. The pictures might not show it but, it just doesn't look right, it has a brown colored liquid around it. It's getting side pins even with a liner. Nothing poking through the top yet.

 they grow fast, those will be decent size, still got some growing to do. Keep a watch on that spot in your tub, it may fill in.

Alright So I was wondering what to do if the shrooms in the pics above get too heavy for the cake? Its growing kind of funny and it seems heavy and it tipped my cake over. I repositioned it, but when I birthed that jar the pins were barely hanging on to some small whisps of myc. Also, can a few huge fruits "drain" the cakes and just give off smaller mushrooms the rest of the time? I also had a cap split, I think I read that is normal, what's the likelihood that it will just abort?

When I done them on there side like that I positioned the perlite to keep them from tipping. Sometimes you will get a couple big mushrooms or several smaller ones. Pick them individually when the veil starts to tear or right after to prevent a spore drop. As soon as you pick all the fruits on a cake dunk again for 24 hours and wait for the next pin set. The one in the far back in the first pic will probably be ready to pick when you wake up just looking at how the veil is stretching. The split cap should keep growing.

Wet weight is 15.3g for the largest, 14.4g for the next and I had to pick the smaller mushroom because it was attached to the big shroom 2.7g.
