 Plan on doing 1st bulk grow. Can you sterilize 1 quart jars (WBS or rye) in pots?

My pressure cooker only holds 2 jars at a time when they are on their side. Will sterilizing them in a pot be okay? I'm planning on using WBS because it's cheaper then rye grain (pretty much going to follow Franks mono tek).

The short answer is no . Please presoak the seed for 24 hours and dry properly before you use the bird seed. You can simmer if you want to prep but I prefer the longer method.

Lol oh I thought we were being practical here ha! yeah go steam for 8 hours! 
It just depends on the production math . Will the amount you steam in the pot for 8 hours be more than if you just continuouslyuse your pressure cooker to sterilize the grain. if you are at all interested in a productivity standpoint, time ,effort etc. probably not.

I say the fastest way to reach your goal would be to steam some and while that long process is going you use the pressure cooker the same time depending on your grow size.

 I agree , I assume he was not looking to spend any money . I had to do that kind of work when I started before I built my 140 gallon pressure cooker:)
But your right , he should just get an aa and call it a day.

i had two aa's and two presto 23 qt's running last year, down to 1 AA now though as i just sold most of my equipment like an idiot

I plan on sterilizing a total of 12 jars. 2 can fit in my pressure cooker and 4 in a pot. So I'm going to do one run in the morning, then let everything cool. And the second run at night and let everything cool overnight....Yeah, I'm going to start looking into an All American, haha.

This is going to be my second grow yo. So I just got an inexpensive pressure cooker....Just birthed some BRF cakes a couple of days ago and no pins yet

they sell 23 qt pressure cookers on amazon for like 80 bucks fits 10 jars and does a great job

I'd go ahead and use your pc and do several separate grows over several days.
OK it's time consuming but a lot better than the feeling you get when your grow contams.
Also separating the grows is like an insurance policy. Smaller grows, but better chance of success.

and you could always get some spawn bags.. even with the small PC u can just load up the spawn bag with about 5 jars of material. should work very well for u and there a lot cheeper than an $80 PC.

I plan on inoculating with a spore syringe so I want to do it all at once so I don't handle the syringe to much and possibly contaminate it.
