I am sure that it is possible to cultivate ergot as ergotamine tartate is used in ped medicine . However I have no clue as to how it is done , and to be honest do not think that I would wish to try a fungus that has caused so much damage . The idea of doing the st vitus dance does not appeal to me.

it is possible. As to wether or not any specimen has been cultivated thru the life cycle, i have yet to see any documentation. As i've said before, this shit will kill you.

There are alot of publications available for the cultivation of ergot for the purposes of extracting egot alkaloids. I once found a site from the netherlands that offered spores of a similar species, but it wasn't a site like sporeworks or anything. It was geared to ag research. I don't know what hoops they would make you jump through. Ergot alkaloids can be found in other species of claviceps as well as other fungi that cause similar diseases. Do some research on a library's scientific journal database. I like ScienceDirect personally, but there are other good ones.
