I finally got my shit together and steam sterilized 25 pf jars today. I just finished inoculation of all 25. They are Now on a shelf where I'll try not to bother them. Now I just have to try to be patient...
Here are my babies. ( the tape is for a few small cracks)

I'm sure someone has already told you those large jars tend to stall?
Also, you have air exchange holes poked in there right?
Other then that

Yes, it was some leftover verm and brf and I had an extra jar so i said why not. Not to mention some extra liquid in the spore syringe. Of course, 4 holes in the lid with a half inch layer of dry verm.

I did some of the tall half pints recently, it took most of them about 3 weeks to reach 100%. About two to three days after 100% most of them started pinning in vitro, so I went ahead and birthed.
Some people say they have problems with them getting stuck, but mine came right out of the jars with a tap on the hand. I fruited them laying down so moisture wouldn't be pulled down by gravity. Had some decent flushes off them.

This is one of the smaller flushes but I thought they were weird/cool looking mushrooms, wavy spotted caps and the only ones that had fuzzy feet. When I dunk and rolled I piled a ridge of verm across the top.

Well first signs of any growth...
On my phone so the picture quality isn't that great, but it's about the size of a bb.

I was looking at the rest of the jars and these two are colonizing much faster but where the myc is starting to form there's black dots. Is that just a clump of spores, because I know there were a couple jars where a few clumps came out.

May just be soot from the needle. That's a lot of jars what's your plan for them, you gonna fruit them as cakes?

Yeah. I plan on doing a couple sgfc's. Can they be stacked as long as there is 6-12in of space in between the fc?

They may be fine as long as they are at least a foot away from one another, the more the better for proper FAE. You will also need head room to mist and fan the bottom one. It would be a major pain to have to move it every time you need to mist/fan, they get heavy with all the damp perlite, IME. You could also spawn to bulk in a mono, but cakes are cool too. like I said when I did the tall jars I fruited them on their side and it worked great.

I want to stick to cakes for now just to get in to growing. I did have a quart sized jar in the first picture that i could do that with though. I haven't really researched monotubs so I have no idea how to go about that.

ND, What strain is that in your picture and what was your average yield per cake?

I still do cakes and i have been doing it for about a year and a half now. I know thats not too long but I feel i need to master cakes before moving on to others. I have tried horse poo and brf substrate but nothing has worked as good for me as the cakes have. I do the tall jars as well. The only problem i tend to have with the cakes is when it comes to the amount they put out compared to a mono tub or cake pan of horse poo. Looks good though.

There's nothing wrong with cakes, I love growing them. Those were B+, I really didn't weigh every one, I want to say most put out somewhere in the 75g range more or less. Minus a cake or 2 that didn't put out much, but that's MS for you. I grew those to get spores for agar work, pick a couple out to clone and some personal stash. Right now I've got clones of my best two fruits from that grow on agar. I gave all the cakes to a buddy after the first flush.

Have you thought about working with agar any? Pasty plates are really cheap, fun and easy. You can take your own spore prints and work with those, or clone a fruit you like and you don't have to order anything. Everything can be picked up for cheap at the grocery store. http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/19208976/fpart/1/vc/1 And if you find you really like the hobby here's some good reading material on bulk while you are waiting on your jars to colonize, how frank gets it done: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/17897163#17897163

Mono tubs are definitely worth trying. High yields with little up keep. I recommended checking out-grow.com if you decide to try it, very good service.
