Baldur's Gate 2

Anyone else into Baldur's Gate 2? If so, share some of your strategies, stories, opinions etc.
So I ditched GTA V because although it's super fun, it's evil and unimaginative and makes me a bad person, and jumped into Baldur's Gate 2 again. I played it a little bit when I was younger (played the original more) but I'm already further than I was then. I find it very hard but very fun to figure out how to be good at it. Good old Bioware. They really are one of the best developers out there. I'm going to keep playing through it, and I'm playing on standard difficulty. Sometimes I sort of cheat with winning, like I'll draw out enemies in small groups if I can, and I'll soup up my party with spells and summons before a big fight.

You might find THIS interesting then!

Someone remade baldurs gate in the neverwinter nights 2 engine, and its free. You do of course have to own neverwinter nights 2 and its expansion(s?)

Someone report back on how they feel about it. I don't believe i ever beat the first Baldurs Gate.. or the 2nd.. but I did rampage through Icewindale I and II, Loved them to pieces. Every time I try Baldurs Gate I get slaughtered though in the beginning. Not sure what I keep doing wrong =/

That remake sounds really stupid to me but kudos to the guy for actually doing it. Yeah I find Baldur's Gate 2 really hard but I always get through a certain section after trying different tactics.

I havent given the second one another run yet as I wanted to complete the first one first. But I keep getting annihilated in the beginning fights. Losing people all sorts of stupid shit. Maybe I'm doing stats wrong or something. Icewindale and Icewindale II didn't seem nearly as rough with the difficulty

The reason I started playing AD&D when I was a kid was my Aunt gave me a hard back book with the original dragonlance Legends trilogy all in one book. Once I started reading that I had to read more and got the first trilogy, DragonLance Chronicles, and started buying AD&D books after making the connection that dragonlance was a dungeons and dragons 'world'. Shortly thereafter I started playing the original gold box SSI D&D computer games like Pools of Radiance from forgotten realms, and of course all the dragonlance ones.
My love of reading got me hooked on the paper and dice and the paper and dice just fed into PC rpg playing, etc etc. One giant rpg snowball.

Is it isometric, or 3d? I tried Never Winter Nights 2, but it is in 3d and I am not digging it so much.

Pillars of Eternity is a computer role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Paradox Interactive. It was released for Microsoft Windows, OS X and Linux on March 26, 2015. The game is a spiritual successor to the critically acclaimed game series Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale, along with the game Planescape: Torment. Obsidian started a crowd funding campaign for it in September 2012 which raised $4,163,208, at the time the highest funded crowd sourced video game on Kickstarter. The game uses Unity Technologies' Unity engine.

well what ive noticed is FPS's tend to drop in price rather quickly, smaller budget and non FPS's tend to hold their value for a long time. It also hasn't been out all that long really, and as you might have noticed alot of people havn't even heard of it yet so i dunno. But regardless just buy it, then we can get more balders gate type games

Maybe you should buy physical copies, that way you might be more compelled to play them.

Tried that method, does not work any better for me then just downloading on steam. My right hand has a game sale addiction and sadly, left hand cannot use a mouse for shit, so right hand usually gets its way and plasters my steam library with new titles way faster then I play them.

The allure of a potentially amazing game is strong. I love reading about games as much as I love playing them, but I also want to get into making them.

I loved those games actually just found them again for android little bit annoying without mouse but fun none the less
