So, on day 5 now, just checked and it looks like my tub is coming along.

Some of the mycelium is kind of wispy, don´t know if it is something I should be worried about. Any thoughts?

it looks to me like u didnt do any patching which is why its so uneven .id put it into FC if it was mine. if u wait till the whole thing colonises .those already thick areas are going to b overlayn at least IME

I didnt case it at all....I've read about overlaying but never really found anything concrete, what exactly does that mean?

Ok sorry, scratch that lol. I just read that with cubes overlay isn´t a big worry. If it is a problem, can I just case the parts that are already colonized?

The bigger spots that aren't colonizing as fast are likely due to uneven grain distribution. At least that's been true in my experience.

So I can just leave it or should I do something about it?

Just wanted to update...it is day 7, looks good but I have one concern. The mycelium is looking fairly wet, is this ok or should only the walls be wet with condensation?

Just checked on the tub, things did very well over night. Nearly 100% now.

One thing to ask, there seems to be a couple spots that look yellow. I don´t know if this is from the drops of water falling on the sub or a contam. Any input would be appreciated.

Hey, sorry to be so annoying lol....just wondering if my sub is too wet. I put it into fruiting conditions yesterday, and have had a fan running by it the whole time. The sub has little puddles of water and just seems too wet to me.

I have the bottom holes stuffed tight and the top holes stuffed loosely. There are more yellow spots, but i believe it is just metabolites, possibly just from water droplets falling off the lid.

Should i maybe loosen the top holes a bit more, or possibly take the poly out completely?

Standing water isn't good from what I understand. At least not puddles.
I would leave the lid off it for a bit and let it evaporate for a bit.

And if your wanting to put it into pinning mode then your going to want it to start evaporating the water from the substrate. Hit it with some light. And keep up the FAE.

Keep us posted and good luck.

Awesome...thanks. I left the lid off for an hour or so and fanned it. Its looking a lot better, the walls aren't very wet though, but I read that its better too dry than too wet. I guess time will tell lol. How close does the fan need to be?
