just wondering why my agar mixture separated after it was poured? It was a mixture of oatmeal/brown rice and a small amount of grass seed liquid. 750 ml. of oatmeal/brown rice and grass seed water and 14 grams of agar agar. I did pc with some bird seed for 90 min. not sure it that was a bit long.
all the dishes were firm, but had a thin layer liquid in each dish. i still used the dishes and they were clean but the spores ran all over the place.

Well... 90 min is waaaaay too long.
20-30 min @ 15psi
Also, might still have been too hot when you poured then also. It might be condensation.

Not sure what's going on here, but it sounds like a condensation issue. Your agar to nutrient ratio is good. Also, yea, 90 minutes in the PC is double the amount of time needed to sterilize agar for use in this hobby, so you may have some caramelization going on in your media as a result.
Sounds like you have done all you can. The spores running all over the surface of the agar media isn't too big of an issue. Just let the spores do their thing. If your sterile technique was good, expect to see health germination of only mushroom mycelium within the next two weeks.

thanks for the reply's... I kinda knew that 90 min was too long but I was trying to sterilize my agar and bird seed at the same time. I did boil the agar just until it was all mixed evenly
on a different note, I knocked a bunch of rye grass seed jars and only 3 out of 24 are doing anything. All the jars got 2-3 ml of spore solution from a trusted vendor, its been 3 days short of a month and still nothing. no contams... just grass seed in jars lol.... well not really that funny  temps range from 75 during the day to 65 at night...same place i keep my dishes and every dish is growing. just about ready to dump em all and try again???

I also just did myt first agar mix,
1 L water
20g agar
20g malt extract
1 drop corn syrup
2g active dry yeast (maybe this isnt the same as nutritional yeast and this screwed me up?)
cpl drops of food coloring
the mixture just upon inspection looks to have a separation going on in it, and the ones on the bottom have wierd brown and green tings in them, its so fucked? looks like algae or something.
no idea how this got so fucked. what a shame.
what could have happened here?

nutritional yeast is definitely different from active dry yeast so likely this is where i fucked up!

Damn, I love a good silver lining. +5 booms for you. And OP, he's right. Always make sure you have at least 3qts of water in the PC. Some people do less, I always opt for the instructions and just raise my trivet with lids. Don't give up now. The rewards are more enriching than all the failures are terrible and gut-wrenching.

every single one has this fucked up sludge in it?
I used nutritional yeast, agar powder and light malt extract. `1 drop of white corn syrup.
I just spent the entire day re doing this and its failed again. Absolutely brutal, I was Just about to pour my 1st ever plates in my SAB.

Just use agar powder and light malt extract, I don't think you need the extra ingredients.

What kind of water are you using?
You do not need corn syrup.
500ML water
10g malt extract
10g agar powder
1.5g nutrient yeast
Mix it up, put it in a bottle, shake it, PC at 15 psi for 30 minutes, open and let it cool until it's not too hot for you to hold, then pour them in stacks.
Also pictures would help you way more for pretty much every post on here.

I was initially using tap water, then switched to distilled, and thanks for your help man. That`s exactly what I used, and in those ratios as well which is why I am so confused, I did 2 massive batches of jars like a dummy before just testing some first. (but I added the drop of corn syrup and 2 drops of food coloring as well.)
I re-did it with just agar and LME and a drop of food coloring. and its almost done PCing...well see. I really really hope this works.

Just making sure, you are pcing for 30 minutes right? And you're doing jars not a single bottle and pouring correct?
