This is my first attempt, The mushrooms that are growing were starting in the jar. i havent seen any new pins at all .I have been fanning and misting 3 times a day.

As soon as you start to worry that your little cakes are never gonna pin, then be patient and leave them be, that's when you'll see your first new pins. Then they will explode :nyan:  :mushdance:
That's what happened to me this week! Monday I was like "It's been 7 days and nothin." Then Monday night misting time came along and I saw my very first pin. Now I've got some mushies in the dehydrator harvested from 2 cakes. Patience :rockon:

Edit: Careful not to over mist as well. Your cakes look a bit wet from the pic but maybe it's just me. I'm still a noob.

After they drop spores they don't grow bigger. Just kinda die and curl.

After the veil breaks, there's not much point in letting them grow. They mostly take on more water weight. So, go ahead pick those.

They look fine though. Just stay on top of misting and be patient. Sometimes it just takes a while.

Funny, I'm in the EXACT same situation as you.  Your cakes even look like mine (minus that massive shroom you should pick).  My cakes have been in the SGFC for one week and prior to this morning I only had 2 pins growing that were there before I birthed.  I was starting to get a little worried, too.

I read this post several hours ago.  Then just now I went back to mist/fan, and I see definite pins on maybe 5 of 8 cakes.  Here we go!  I'll be happy if I have enough fresh shrooms to try them this next weekend.  Will be my first time.  :grin:

needs more perlite
u shood have 5" looks like only 3-4 in there??
and how far apart r ur holes? they should be spaced 2" apart

Thanks for the reassurance. I'll keep working with em.
I picked the big one and it weighed 42 grams wet. Its drying now.
I guess i could add more perlite, I started with about 4 1/2 "
and it seems to have settled to about 3 3/4".

Take a look at my pik and let me know what you guys think.
It's been a week in the fc and havnt seen any think yet.
these 2 were starting to grow in the jars before i soaked and rolled.
I just havnt seen any thing from the others. Water was starting to puddle
up on the top of a couple cakes , so maybe to much water?
the pik was taken about an hour after i had misted.
