Titanium nail question

My buddy has this nail on his rig. Why the color change? Is it a good thing or not?
He has had it for a while and I've dabbed out of it multiple times
Thanks

Have never dabbed before, not yet. But I think its from extreme heat, I don't think its anything to be concerned about.

the color change is a sign that the rig is real titanium.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anodizing#Anodized_titanium
the more patchy and inconsistant the anodization, the lower the quality of the titalium is.
the quality of the titanium probably doesnt matter when it comes to paraphernalia, but its a great way to identify chinese knockoff's of titanium (its still technnically titanium, but very low quality with lots of vandium & iron).

aluminum can also be anodized though, so its possible your nail is made of that. but low quality titanium isn't much more expensive than aliuminum, its just harder to process. so if their gonna advertise as titanium they might as well go with the relatively real thing
mostly learned about this stuff while playing with titanium knife scales. anodization is very easy to do at home with a torch

-------------------- Ephesians 6:12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Psalm 12:6 The words of the Lord are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. Hebrews 11:3 Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Revelation 3:11 Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

that's titanium, anodizing aluminum is completely different, heating it isnt actually anodizing which is an electrochemical process of oxidizing a metal, titanium will oxidize easily with heat

Yea, that's a rather unusual and often misunderstood 'Burkeism'. There are several meanings of this phrase, one of which David Carradine was very familiar with... . . . .
