Nice bluemeanie, the chants are cool. I'm awaiting the season as well. What part of Vic do you usually hunt in? I'll be exploring North/North West Victoria this year. I spend most of my time hunting out East in Gippsland.

Hi mate - I mainly hunt in the Yarra ranges and the dandenongs.

Here are some Tricholoma terreum, a birch bolete or two, Marasmius oreades, more blewits and a few others. Thanks!

These are sick. Thank you.

What are the boletes in the last post?

Edit: found them on what I'd assume is your website. Cool.

Aye - birch boletes. Very nice although not quite as good as real porcini.

Nice one bluemeanie!

I came across a patch of C. concinnus in rainforest in NW Tassie a month ago. Our Lactarius deliciosus season should get started in the higher altitude areas fairly soon.

Do you eat T. terreum? I don't think anyone has looked at the ones we have in our radiata pine plantations down here, so I've never been game enough.

Hi yes ive eaten terreum a few times and they are great. See them now also under eucys now days to so they apparently arent fussy with host trees.
The article about it being poisonous is a worry though i guess
