How many of you fellow mushroomers are also herpers?

I love heading out to the bush for a reptile and mushy hunt!

What reptiles have you found? Whats native in your area?

Heres some pictures of my travels;

The northeastern part of the U.S. has a spotted salamander that is quite large and quite handsome. They tend to stay really cool by mainly coming out at night. This means that they tend to feel pretty nice when you put them on your skin.

Funny you should say that. I used to find them all the time, but they've appeared to have vanished in my area within the last few years.

Haha it wouldnt be the first time thats happened! lol.
Often as a kid i would find injured wildlife of all sorts in the bush or on the roads and have to try and sneak them past my poor old mum who would almost die of fright when she realized.

Its so cool to see everyones finds!!
I'd love to travel one day and check out all of the reptiles that arent native here in their natural habitats.
That Diamondback is amazing, MidnightCity.

I'm from Newcastle, but not the same Newcastle you are. I'd probably love this if I wasn't from the UK.

As it stands, I am, and we only have a few species of lizard and snake, which are all pretty scarce (generally, it depends on where you live).

There are quite a few amphibians though. Frogs, toads and newts can be found fairly easily. Moderate little fellows in comparison to the ones you can no doubt find.

Theyre notoriously known as one of the first ones that start moving.  I knew they would move around in the 60 degree category but with snow on the ground is pretty badass.  Shit, I dont even like the snow..
