The bounty from last night

Pretty sure they're cyans.

Not sure about these, don't think they're actives. Maybe someone can enlighten me

Yes they're P. cyanescens

I think several of your other lot are too. The left-most one is for sure a cyan.

Hard to say exact species without micro.
You definetly have an active Copelandia sp.
The ones in the last pic besides the far left one
maybe Panaeolus cinctulus.

The one on the left is Copelandia, the next 3 are cinctulus, the next is likely Pan. papilionaceus and not sure about the rest but could be cinctulus as well.
Either way they are not toxic.
There are no known toxic Panaeolus species.

I feel that it's about time to start hunting again.

edit: great to see this thread's still going! Was last here 3 years ago.

Now if I remember correctly, the best time to go shroom picking is after some good rain, when the sun comes out very hot, and they all grow up in the cow fields  (I only pick from dung).
Is that true?

Personally, I found the most on a rainy gloomy day so who knows!
Keen to get out there!

Oh man, they look great!
I don't have time until the weekend to go out myself.
I've only ever found one cube, however I find tonnes of blue meanies.

Hey guys, I'm having a little trouble here.....
I have been collecting mushrooms with the family since I was a kid (well mainly for dinner, but Granma taught me which ones NOT to pick and then my cheeky Granpa told me about the forbidden ones that won't kill you, but give you a good time  ).
Good times... I never had a problem picking, but that was in Europe :frown:

Now I live in the Redlands and thought, hey let's go look for some shrooms before the season runs away......I ended up walking through a swamp, getting eaten alive by insects and NO shrooms to be found (not even for dinner). I found one mini poisonous one near a creek though, about as big as a 50 cent coint :tongue2:
I sadly also found a lot of trash lying around

Now I am used to walk through dark forests, with barely any vegetation on the ground for shroom hunting, here I start to feel a little bit frustrated walking through well lid overgrown bush. It's not that I don't like it, I'm just not used to it. I thought about walking through one of the national parks. I don't really want to hop cow fences here as all the farms around here are so small and that just feels uncomfortable, like walking through someone’s backyard.

I'm not asking for exact spots, just some helpful advice how to identify the right biosphere.

http://www.shroomery.org/11154/Psilocybe-cubensis-Identification-for-Beginners would be helpful  They only grow on dung in this area

Thanks a lot.
I have a bit of Bush around the corner and I found some shrooms (inactive and probably inedible) there (foresty with creek), but the junkies like to hang out there and it looks a bit suspicious if I keep going there

Also, if they really only grow around dung here, then I'll be forced to jump a fence......I have done that many times back in Europe, but there it felt natural (with no buildings nearby, cow fields often in forests). Here in Redlands we are so close to the city, mainly acreages :frown:

PS: I have just checked some locations with google satellite images and I remembered some cars parked at strange places at night.....now it all starts to make sense :P

Found 5 cubes this afternoon before the rain set in! First hunt of the season.
Got 65grams fresh and made a tea with it, didn't get pics though :frown:
Should be good times ahead after this torrential rain

How was the ground? I have noticed that mos cow fields around my area have very hard, dry earth. Not really good mushroom conditions.
In my experience, valley fields with a little creek running through are good places.....but then again that was back in europe...
