Winter Mono Fruiting.

So, I've run into a problem.
I had tons of success growing in the past months when it was warmer (and wetter); but now, since I've started some new tubs this December, they seem to be not performing so well.
Here are a few problems I ran into:
1. The first problem was temperature. I seemed to have fixed this problem by getting enough tubs going, along with the grow lights in my small room, to maintain a nice 70-75F ambient.
Another solution to this would be to run a small oil heater if you only have a couple tubs or no other sources of heat.
2. Secondly, I had problems maintaining good RH balanced with FAE in my tubs because of the natural dryness winter brings. They were drying right out under my evaporation lines from the top holes; causing yellow, dry mycelium where it clings to the liner... I could see the casing layer drying out a little too. I tried several things like stuffing poly in the top holes tighter and turning down my fan to keep up RH, only to suffer from poor FAE... I ended up realizing my problem was low RH within the room itself, it was sitting around 15-20%.
The solution? Completely remove the poly from top holes and run an ultrasonic to maintain 40-50% RH within the grow room.
Since then, the problems seem to have been solved. My tubs seem to be coming back around now with plenty of FAE, RH and no drying. I can't say for sure if the problem is fixed, only time and results will tell. Just thought I would share.
Anyone else have some input about problems fruiting monos in the winter months?

Greenhouses are high maintenance for the output IMO. I guess it is cool if you just have a tiny one and only want to grow small amounts. You also have the problem of cross contamination within the GH. Mono tubs are little to no maintenance and can be isolated from other tubs which prevents cross contamination; that brings me to another plus, they are portable.
I do like the idea of just being able to put whatever you like in a greenhouse though, you could just spawn to any container you have laying around and toss it in there to fruit. Being in total control of the RH and FAE is awesome too.
I guess all setups have their plus and negative sides.

Colder temperatures are not a problem, they'll just fruit slower .

Was down in the low 60s for a bit, little too slow fruiting for my liking.
Low 70s seem to be the sweet spot for me, I got it 75 in the day and 70 at night now.

I hate to be a thread jacker. Is the mycelium metabolites? The liquid is Amber. And it comes out of the substrate after not misting for a few hours. Thanks guys.

That tray doesn't look good, maybe contaminated, can't quite tell from the pictures.
Amber buildup would be metabolites, yes. Look like you are fighting a mean infection.
Next time, try making your own thread. Welcome to the Shroomery.

I use a little space heater to keep my room 70-75 for fruiting and colonization and it works perfectly.

Amber drops and it leaves craters as well. I blotched the metabolites with a paper towel. What should I do toss them. I have 4 that all look like this. But they are all fully colonized. And smell like shroom.

PM me and I will help you that way. Stay on topic in the threads.
Try using the search function as well, see if anyone has had a similar problem to yours in the past; to try to find answers on your own.
You need 50 posts to create a thread now? I don't think it was like that when I joined...

I fruit in a box all year round in a basement that gets down to 50deg during the winter months and only 65 during summer months. It only holds 3 66qt monos but performs very well and I'm sure larger taller ones can be built to hold more tubs and work just as good. Here are some pics if you're interested.
There is a 6500k light mounted under the lid, a hole cut in the back lower side of the box behind the fan covered with screen and a filter to keep bugs and dust out. Heater keeps temps around 75deg and the fan is kept on low on a timer set for half hour on half hour off. Theses are older pics and I have since changed the fan to a small 6" one the is tilted down toward the floor.

That is a cool setup, PinPorn. I like it.
I don't know how comfortable I'd feel with that space heater in there though, those type of heater dry the air as they heat.

That is true, I find as long as I mist once a day the tubs are fine, even every couple days. I haven't really looked for different type of heater but if I was to change the heater type what might you suggest? Keep in mind it would have to be small, the heater I use is only about 10" high

I'm pretty sure oil heaters are the best for this hobby, you may have a hard time finding one under 10 inches tall.

Everything I have learned has been from this site. I'll tell you what though... It's not easy deciphering what to believe and what not to, there are so many different opinions, doubters and trash talkers you kind of have to trial and error all the advise you get. But after you learn who's advise works best, this place is your best friend.
