For a casing layer? Not very much... You can easily do it in a half gallon jar and your PC like on RR pasteurization video...

With coir you don't even need a meat thermometer, just bring the water to boil, turn off the stove and put the lid of the PC for more insulation, leave it for an hour.

No the casing is a separate question. I use peat/verm for casing. I will properly pasteurize that.

I know how to properly pasteruize, but I would rather use the bucket tek this time for the sub. I just don't know the proper amount of water.

Oh... it's like 4 liters of boiling water for 1 brick of 650 grams, 2 quarts of verm and a handful of gypsum.

You want to use half brick of coir, you would only need 1 quart of verm a hanful of gypsum and 2 liters of boiling water. IF you want to use 2 quart of verm for half brick use a little more of 2 liters of water, like 2.5.

Sorry liters of water... quarts of waters... is almost the same amount...

Alright. I didn't figure the verm would absorb too much, but I wasn't sure. I guess I'll just estimate and hope it turns out alright. Shouldn't be too critical, just thought someone running 27 quarts might have it down to a science.

2 quarts of water for the half brick of coir.

1/4-1/2 quart of water per quart of verm.

Add the gypsum after you hydrate, otherwise you'll end up with a slimy mess on the bottom of your bucket

A tub that size, you'll need just one quart of casing. I use roughly two quarts per 66qt tub.
