How much FAE is too much? If I have the time to watch it could I just leave the top off and mist every time it starts evaporating? I know the point of a monotub is set it and forget it but wouldn't that theoretically give the most evaporation/fresh air, without drying out the sub?
This is more of a conceptual question than anything.

So as long as I can maintain the moisture in the tub then I want as much FAE as possible?

Yes.

11/21 PM pictures. I left the fan pointing too much at my tub, and the sub got a little bit dry and some bruising appeared. My first real hiccup so far. It's just a few small spots, and confined to the "peaks" of the myc, so I don't think I'm in too much trouble. (I hope!) I misted inside up pretty good and put her in the dark for the night.

Bruising has gone down a lot over night! Otherwise, more of the same. I want to see pins more than anything in the world...

I can completely relate to you OP, as our tubs seem to be in lock-step. I've been waiting for pins for 5 days -- plenty of knots, no pins. So, I don't have much to add, but please keep us updated!

Same here, my beautiful little jars got too dry last night and one of them was a little bruised!! I felt bad and was kind of worried but it made me feel better that you're bruising disappeared. I gave mine lots of mist.
I'm waiting to see pins too!!!

I'm at 12 days since spawning, and about 4 days into misting and fanning. Goal was pins by day 15 so there's still plenty of time.

How often are you misting?
There is no set schedule, you mist when you see the sub is starting to dry out. If you overmist it will delay your pinning because you'll waterlog your sub.

Yeah I just give it a few sprays on all the sides of the tub when the water on the tub starts to dry up. The fact that my bruising went down after a little heavier misting make me think my sub is too dry if anything.

You don't have to mist the walls, they won't grow.
Mist your sub directly. It could be from your sub drying out or not having enough FAE to create the needed humidity.

I read somewhere that you shouldn't mist the sub directly.... but then again you can dunk the sub in water between flushes right?

Pasty says "mist directly" you better do it!!!!
I mist mine directly and I've been misting the walls too, only to promote more RH in my chamber because I have all of my top holes open and uncovered. I need to mist about once a day or my fellas dry out.

Pics from 11/23. Lots more knotting. Something popping up but it doesn't look like a pin. I also got a hygrometer to help monitor my temp/humidity. The last picture shows the thing that is probably not a thing, along with another one that is not in focus.
I mist onto my substrate too but I could probably mist more. The link below says knot formation like mine means I need more FAE, I think.

I will be misting and fanning the shit out of it from now on.

Will you circle and point out knotting?
Are the white circles/dimples knots?

The dense, white, circular areas that poke up are knots.
