Help me out guys.

Ive been a member of Steam for years now, I really only play Counter Strike Source but i recently saw a game that peaked my interest.

That game is DayZ.

So i go ahead and purchase DayZ via Steam. Ive downloaded the game which took forever.

Now my question is, how the hell do i play it?
After i downloaded it, Steam says "Ready to play" but no icon popped up on my desktop.

When i click on the Steam icon on my desktop, it just brings me to a list of servers non of which are DayZ.

Im probably doing something stupid i know. Im not too tech savvy when it comes to things like this. I downloaded this game Thursday and ive been trying all weekend to figure this shit out without asking for help.

Now, i could use the help walking me through this shit.

What do you mean "when you click the steam icon on your desktop, it just brings you to a list of servers none of which are DayZ"?
Do you mean the DayZ icon or Steam? If you are opening Steam, under your list of Games, you can launch DayZ through there.
Are you seeing the loading screen for the game?

I figured out how to get onto DayZ. I had to download the right version of Directx or whatever it is.
