Yes definitely not lophs. Reminiscent of trichs, or a host of other possibilities.

Woah. I know nothing about cacti but even I could tell you that peyotes don't have spines.

Well they do for the first few months of their life  but clearly not to the same degree as OP's seedlings.

They are often referred to in descriptions as plumose spines (Boke, Norman H. & Anderson, Edward F. (1970). "Structure, Development, and Taxonomy in the Genus Lophophora". American Journal of Botany 57(5), 569-57)

Well.. Sometimes in modern culture(forgot whole botanical stuff) Peyote is just synonym to San Pedro or any mescaline cactus, or another way.

Seems your friend have take care of trichocereus plants and you have got trichocereus seeds as "peyote"

What I mean at first sentence, some words may be confusing and people use them very freely, those who doesn't know much of the plants, their names etc.. Basically names like: Peyote, Mescaline, San Pedro, etc are someway synonym to "mescaline cactus"

Or someone have fool you and purposely send trichocereus seeds as lophophora seeds(they are very similar)

But I just mean if we think outside the box, only mescaline, then it's not unheard of those columnar psychedelic plants are said as "peyote" with purpose or by accident.

Not all people separate or care about names, as long as plants have mescaline and they have basically all same synonym in some way.

OR your source have mixed trichocereus and lophophora seeds by accident and send you trichocereus seeds. So far I see those may be young trichs, of I can't be 100% sure.

IF you see some people, read another forums etc, you may find out some talk about "peyote trip" but they have actually just used dried san pedro. Basically if meaning of cacti is just mescaline.. All those words(peyote, san pedro, etc) are synonym to one drug called mescaline. And sometimes naming the way like this can go as far as seeds.

For example someone have seeds from psychedelic cactus and person don't know much more than it gives nice trip.. Person don't now any botanical perspective for this, and then person say "it must be peyote"

Also some websites confuse san pedros to peyote or they are someway linked to one like synonym to mescaline cactus without further knowledge. Only collectors and growers basically need what they have and they are more accurate with those names.

I still don't mean my own opinion is lophophora and trichocereus are same stuff, no no..

thing is, when you think it very simple way, you can use san pedro and peyote as synonym to mescaline or mescaline cactus seeds..

But these stuff I wrote is just some drug talk.
