He probably wants to poison a friend. No harm done. All in the interest of research and experimentation. You could possibly also extract amatoxin? Put it in their morning tea?

But, yes, again, seems like a disaster waiting to happen.
Imagine, it becomes common knowledge and FAQs are released on how to grow death caps, and vendors can stock different strains from different areas

Maybe the Amanita muscaria aka "fly agaric". They are poisonous, yet some people actually still eat them. They are active I guess but could probably make one sick as hell if they ate to many. I wouldn't... some of the white species could be deadly. Such as the "destroying angel" :scat:

I've seen some amanita species fruited before but I'm not sure if they're the deadly species(death cap or destroying angel) or not.

Yeah, some mushrooms are more poisonous than others. For some reason if someone wants to grow a poisonous mushroom in my mind it seems it'd make sense that they'd try to grow the most poisonous ones .

I thought most amanitas with the *possible* exception of muscaria and pantherina are poisonous (and as far as I know, those are poisonous too, they're just also psychoactive). I'm pretty sure even those two can kill you, which would make them toxic. I know that there are some that are just plain deadly but, like I said, I was always under the impression the whole genus was toxic.

Anyway, to the OP, can you explain what you're actually doing and what you need to propagate poisonous mushrooms for? Not judging or anything, I am actually curious. Most people who own snakes do not own poisonous ones. I doubt you'd want a tub of death shrooms being fanned and ventilated throughout the house, although another issue is: it depends on just how toxic the mushroom is.

Why not just grow infected mushrooms? Just make some jars, PC them so that spores can grow, but then add contams towards the end when they can fruit and bam, some awesome infected mushroom. Your friend would love em

Or you can feed them trich-myc.

(Sorry I had to, with the IM reference)

Yea I've seen some of the old "high times" photos of some of the kits and they had a picture of the "Red Fly Agaric" species in the ad. Still don't know why someone would even want those, when there are so many great cubes and pans to choose from. This was in ads a long time ago though. Like 20 years or more....lol.

Yeah, but who eats morels raw anyways? I am pretty sure many mushrooms we commonly eat, even the "white button" mushrooms you buy at the store are slightly toxic, until cooked.

as far as I know you're stomach is going to have a rough time with every uncooked mushroom. that's why eating cubes fucks your stomach up. not the psilocin.

Beside the point. Morels are technically toxic which was the point in question. Also agaricus are not toxic at all but if you eat too many raw ones you might get the shits from the chitin.

most poisonous mushrooms are only dangerous or fatal if digested...
I don't know of any species that the spores may be harmful poisonous/toxic, but just having them growing wouldn't cause harm if not, since the spores are the only part that can go airbourne.... its not like the mushroom itself have some kind of ambient toxic forcefield around them just being in their presence is detrimental to your health..

Oyster spores can cause severe allergic reactions. I can't grow them cause my dog is really allergic to them.

yeah I've heard of the oysters spores cause allergic reactions, but they are not technically "toxic" or poisonous, and not everyone is allergic to them. I was just writing in reply to an earlier post by someone saying its dangerous to grow a poisonous species in your house. it cant kill you unless you eat it, in which case it would probably be suicide because why would you eat something you know is extremely poisonous... maybe a pet or something might get into them but I doubt anyone would just start eating a random mushroom someone else have growing in their house.. someone said something about handling the muchroom and licking your hand or some shit, I doubt that would cause any extreme harm either, I seen some people take a small bite out of some random ass muchrooms and spit it out just to see what it tastes like... its only when digested it gets processed through the liver and causes failure

either way I wouldn't advise growing poisonous mushrooms in your house, not much point.. I was just saying it wouldn't be harmful
