Absolutely, I'd to learn how to find matsutake too. We should plan something. These boletes are pretty early too, none of the ones directly under the trees were growing yet. I think nomad found about 30+ pounds of them.

Gymnopilus luteo'ginosus
Psilocybe allenii
Some weird Gymnopilus same as http://mushroomobserver.org/153715?q=2Ks6E
I think they may be Panaeolus olivaceus, growing two inches away from a well decayed pile of dog poop...
P. cinctulus
Some other cool Gymnopilus
Big patch of P. cyanescens

Cool man seeing lots of gyms lately. I found some deep purple gyms like you just posted. Not sure if I've seen many pics of those. I printed dried and saved mine. Along with the orange ones from50 yards away. It crossed my mind that possibly they are the same sp. just different age, but i really think its 2 different varieties. Idk both were bluing though. So that makes it harder since I thought the presence of bluing decides if its aeruginosus or lute??

Yes sir. I have a few of the peach colored ones (they have a weird white sheath on their stems) and a few of the really dark red ones.

What do you suppose these are? They look very green staining in person but their gills are very light, when Brad first found them I thought maybe they were C. cyanopus but I don't think that's right anymore. Cap is hygrophanous, gills are light, mushrooms stain green.

Yeah, I tired. Doesn't look like dropped any though. I will put a piece of the gill under the scope and hopefully it will shed some light on what they could be.
I think you're the only person who looks at my posts, so thank you for that

They were found in a clear-cut that was a few years old. I didn't find them, Brad found them and gave them to me to try and figure out.

They were kind of old and I dont have a scope so I gave them to MJK. He knows a way wider range of fungi then I do!
How in the hell did you spot that tiny pellie man?!? Sometimes I swear you have micro vision.
The first time MJK took me mushroom hunting we were standing by a pile of wood chips in the forest and he goes "look a conocybe smithii!" I didn't see any mushrooms and I didn't know what conocybe was either. He reached out and plucked it out of thin air and showed me the blue stem base. I was thinking "well looks like I'm going to learn a lot today".

Lol, thanks Brad.
I just try to focus on what I'm looking for, it's hard thought when there are so many other mushroom distracting me.
