To early fruiting after cobweb infestation
    #20447616 - 08/20/14 10:32 AM (9 years, 7 months ago)

I originally posted this in the contam forum: http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/20390948
So everything turned out fine but as a result the sub started fruiting to soon I didn't even noticed until yesterday, I hoped a bit that it would colonize further till the sub was completely taken over but the myc thought different. Hence the small fruits cause there was no FAE or misting.
Sub is only half colonized, now should I let it colonize further after this flush by putting the lid back on or what? Any suggestions are welcome (well almost any suggestion I'm not gonna stick it up my arse).

no its a kit and its supposed to be colonized when you get it.
you cant tape the bag up and expect more growth,
they've probably filled your tray with perlite and whatnot that wont grow.
if theres only verm on top you're worrying about stop worrying.

do it yourself so you can do it right!

Check out the link he posted. Basically he has a contamination problem that resulted in his tray fruit while in isolation. If it in then fruiting stage it is done colonizing. You might get a little bit of colonization, but I imagine it is fruiting in response to the infection and it won't get any better.

Cheers man
So once it's fruiting there's no way of letting it colonize again even not by tricking it by letting CO levels rise?? Hmmm didn't know that thanks a lot. Should read a little more about the cycles of myc and shrooms.

From what I have read. Once it starts fruiting the cycle has past colonization. Cronicr and pussyfart know way more.than me about this stuff. I'm just a goat.farmer.

harvest and toss. It's not fully colonized and it's fruiting = 100% contaminated. it's only fruiting to try to survive, it won't flush again.

from cobweb???? you gotta be kiddin me
I heard RR say nobody ever lost a grow from cobweb and also RR:  A common contaminant that occurs in casings is the 'Cobweb Mold' which isn't toxic just very annoying that thrives in old stale air. You can melt this using 3% peroxide over the casing. It will not hurt the casing one bit; it's just annoying because you have to keep on it. Don't go easy spray as much as you can. Not in the one spot! Spray the entire casing.
And many more...;
But I wasn't refering to the cobweb thing I'd like to know more about myc cycles just a link will do are some expert explanation would be great
