Oh shit sorry alien I forgot to upload those pix I promised you. I swear I'll do it tomorrow. The first set of grain/sub jars is finally starting to pin 23 days after inoculation.

i was also thinking people could boil that small part for a bit, similar to how you prepare syringes for spores. sucking boiling water in and out a few times

I want this like sockadin said, to inoculate LI to over supplemented shiitake substrate mycobags, or other edibles as well . This way, no need to use grains. Excellent for lazy people.
But how much LI pour to the substrates bags? Aslo we would have to field capacity the substrate more in the dry side, considering LI would be adding more moisture?

The amount you use really just depends on how fast you want it to colonise. I have been using about 100 ml for 9 quarts but I'm sure it would work with much less. I like to mix my substrates a bit on the dry side when using this method.

I was trying to find Blue Helix' results from LC -> bag -> fruit bag in GH, but all I can seem to find today is him spawning those bags to trays again. seems like he's getting ~25 days from inoc till fruits in trays. His bags are done in 5-7 days or so but of course I cant find anyone he fruited straight from the bag..
I did find he's using 140mL in each bag (8 yrs old) and some newer stuff (5yrs) up until 200mL LC
He also says 1/2 cup of liquid shouldn't matter in such a large bag but its all relative:
http://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/4403054#4403054
It sorta makes sense that the myc needs some time to start making knots and pins and cant just jump from spore to fruit in 7 days!

Yeah, Similar to PF tek, they would need a consolidation time after full colonization.

but why? its the same amount of grain and sub as you would combine in a monotub? so because they grew out together and not in separate containers they're somehow more nutritious? 1+1 = 3?

No not more neutritouse but since it colonises so fast i don't think it uses as much of whats there

Love this thread and concept. Just wanted to throw my hat in the ring as one who'll be trying this out very soon. I'm looking to start a new enoki project this weekend with a culture I finally cleaned up from bacterial contamination.
Will post results here and in my project thread!

right on. I'm in the process of cleaning up my enoki culture. Another transfer or two and I should be good to try another grow with them.

Was wondering if anyone has ever LI'd into a LC? Seems like it wouldn't be any worse than inoculating one with a wedge as long as i keep my sterile procedure up to par and it would get more out of the wedge and faster colonization with LI. What do you guys think?

It would work but, it kinda defeats the purpose of doing LI IMO. You just added an extra vector and if your able to do LI then just do lots, LC would not be needed

It could work but I don't think it would be worth while when you can just use the LI as is to inoculate a bunch of jars. Putting it into an LC just seems like an un necessary step and contam risk.
It kind of goes against my goal which is to get from culture to fruits in the fewest number of steps possible. With my current method I'm down to 3 simple steps. Prep supplemented subsrait, Inoculate with LI and fruit in the jar.

Here are my most recent LI inoculated jars. 9qt jars of CVG supplemented with oats and dog food. The LI was made from a PE clone. This is 5 days growth.
Here are the first pins from my first set of cambo LI inoculated grain/sub jars.

I made a spawn bag once with a CVG sub and a small patch of RGS near an injection port. I can't remember if my friend used an LC or a spore syringe in it (I think it was a puerto rican LC). It took forever to colonize, but I think that's only because once the RGS was colonized he never mixed it all together like he was supposed to, just let the myc try to spread into the CVG. Once I told him to mix it, it sped up. I need to find me a blender and make up another one of those bags to test out for myself.
