thank you - I looked up Cortinarius and I think you're correct. Attractive wee things and I've wondered for a while if they were dodgy or not. Seems the answer is yup. Dodgy as.

Season still going strong in Auckland, this spot flushed for the first time all season last week, and after picking about 200 sizeable fruits, its pinning again!
By the time we got to them they had dried out and looked a bit manky, but will get them in their prime after these new pins grow up.
While im here, can anybody ID these guys that i found in Riverhead, they had blue speckles on the stem and im fairly certain they are actives, but not sure what species. Thanks!

I'm 90% sure these are subaeruginosa, though I expected the spore print to have some blue/purple in them, what do you guys think?

Cool P. aucklandiae...
H1N, they they Psilocybe subaeruginosa, the print look's purplish to me?
The bruising should be blue, spore print should be purple/chocolate.

Hi all, First post here! I am on holidays in queenstown with a few mates and we found some mushrooms in the forest. I've tried to identify them but want to be certain before I put anything in my mouth. Could someone in the know please shed some light
Your help is much appreciated!

None of those are active. The mushrooms you're looking for turn blue when injured. Welcome to the shroomery

Very suprised to see my old ground is up fruiting again. scored 780grams of subsects yesterday, and plently smaller ones comming though the chip atm, will revisit next week to see whats happening. subsectoids must be quite a hardy mushroom as nearly all other species are either dried up, dying or just not around atm. for your viewing pleasure

I wont lie..........im definately rather smug about this haul. Its the best i've done in a single hunt, but its amazing the number of pins coming though, weather permitting should get another 300+ grams in a week Subsects must prefer later in the season as very little of anything else around
Pic of the subsects all dried out ready for capping...... And rest of the seasons normal subs allready capped...approx 220.
Makes for a pretty decent 2015 summer.........awesome pickings this season

Far out! I'm finding zilch now. I've called the season over for me. Lost a damn good haul to mould and I wasn't able to pick too many more, so I'm left with about 9g dry for the summer...

Yeah, that was really unfortunate, major pain in the ar$e But you did have a good season, just bad luck in the end......
I know a few people that have turned up alot less than the 9g you still have....thats still a few really good times dude.

Wow! Nice haul Auckland guy. That is really impressive. I have seen a few of those around lower North, but not many.
I agree with what everyone is saying, the seasons coming to an end for sure. I went hunting today for a good 2 hours and only found 10 wareroa.
I crushed a couple of the big bastards up and burried the crushed up caps around my spot with woodchip. So hopefully next year, I will have something to look forward to;)
HookerwithaPenis, Don't leave yourself with just 9g for summer mate, that won't cut it. Why not try inoculating some jars yourself and they'll definitely have fruited by summer.
Here's some pics of what I found today. Just ya typical Wareroa.
I named this first one Amumu :

If only I had the drying/storage set up I have now, back then. Then I'd be having fun times all summer. But like you said, I should still get a good 4 or 5 trips out of it, which should last me a few months. Then I guess I've gotta put up with our insane 'cid prices til next winter rocks around.

I've tried the cardboard inoculation method, but just chucked the bits of cardboard in my woodchip garden bed at home, maybe I'll get lucky with some growth next season. Don't think I can be bothered with a full on grow attempt. Not sure how I'd control and maintain temperature and humidity during the summer, and subs are notoriously difficult to grow indoors. Oh well

Please, please, please tell me - that those are a woman's nails?
Is that a massive single cluster (in the middle of the fruits) being cupped?
