found quite a few edibles this summer and been wondering where the thread is. Today i found my first golden chants of the year so i think its about time to start it. I also found two lobster mushrooms today.
Heres my small haul i found today while at work, i will get a chance to go out this weekend for a real hunt.
Also within the last month i have found cantharellus roseocanus, prince agaricus, oyster mushrooms, and lobster mushrooms. so i would say its time for sure! lets see some more of you getting out there soon!

i live in the coastal region. it has been hot and dry here but the last few days some mist came in and today it rained all day. but the golden chants i saw today some of them were even a bit too old, they should be out there. Ive been finding oysters and roseocanus chants for like a month too so you should all go out and look.
I found these ones while i was working my new job at a golf course. it was really hard to not pick them when i found then and wait till i got off work to go grab them lol. something like 15 miles inland in normal golden chant habitat.

today myself and Hunter hunter hit the coast range. found a few first run golden chants, i had the lions mane growing in my garage but the strangest find of the day had to go to the yellowfeet(foots?) hunter took me on the most offroad walkabout i've been on through berry thickets and 45 degree slopes and looked down. we were both kinda dumbstruck when we realized what we were seeing.

I just went for the afternoon/evening with my family to let the kids play on the beach and eat at Moe's, we were probably in town for 5-6 hours so I didn't look all that hard. South Beach Park sure has a lot of nice looking woodchips...

i found a natural bed of azures nearby there, not in the park but similar habitat.
its not worth it to observe active species there though because the police force there is way over active. Its better to look in more rural areas.

Wow I did not know Chanterelles fruited this early in the PNW. I live in Illinois River Valley area though, we have very long, hot and dry summers . Not finding Chants around here until at least October. I think I will head down to Jedediah Smith in California this week and see what I can find there.
By the way, I am new here, excited to learn. I am very enthusiastic about medicinals. Is there anyone on here from the PNW who happens to know when Ganoderma tsugae & oregonese are harvestable? I am planning a trip up the coast from southern Oregon to Alaska and hope to be primarily finding these magical Reishis. I apologize if there is a more appropriate thread for this . Cheers.

i find them in the fall mostly. Ganoderma finds should also be shared here once they start showing up.

the azures were fruiting now? or did you mean at some point in the past? either way, good to hear they have been seen that far south. we found some good chip habitat near tillamook recently. the chants we found were about 12-20 miles off the coast at about 1500-1800 feet. that little hole should be nice to pick in about 2 weeks but if we don't get more moisture the first flush will dry up. i'll be sick of chants before i know it but man it feels good.
