All i gotta say is if Ubisoft was seriously banking on WD to be their next big franchise as there was talk of, way to fucking drop the ball after all the hype...
Guess they can go make 10 more Assassins Creeds now.

So many new IP's are crashing it seems.  I personally liked Titanfall, but the fact that EA did a free weekend does not make me think  them not releasing sales figures is due to really low sales.  Going in I knew watchdogs was gonna flop.  And look at what they did to prey 2.  The first prey was a really awesome game, but I really have no idea what to think of the new footage.  I can only hope the new Doom is as good as the new Wolfenstein, played that one thru twice.  It is ALMOST as good as Metro and last light.  I personally think indie kickstarter games like star citizen (:rocketcrotch:) space engineers and no mans sky are the bright spots on the horizon.  Hopefully whatever Creative Assembly does next will not be as buggy as Rome 2 was.  But watch dogs was not a let down, I was well prepared for it to suck.  And WTF is the guy wearing?  A turtleneck cardigan, a trench coat, baseball hat, and a fucking mask.  Really? That is what this guy is creepin around in and avoiding people looking for him?  Guy would stand out like Elton Jon and Richard Simmons in pink tu tu's  at a KKK rally.

Ubisoft used to be cool. I used to like their games a lot. Now they kind of piss me off.

Yeah the graphics are great.. but a lot of their games now follow the same "formula" which pisses me the fuck off. Assassin's Creed now follows that same formula I felt in Watch dogs.. that "virtual reality/techyness" to it, where missions are like memories or some shit,  and if you fail them it basically restarts. Yeah I know you can "abort" the mission and do whatever, but just the way they chose to go about it just pisses me off. I loved the first two or three Assassin's Creeds, but after that they started getting way too gimmicky and too scripted. I also hate fucking tons of cut scenes in games with a passion and they keep putting more and more of those in.

The last Ubisoft game I really enjoyed was Far Cry 3. And even that.. although it's a good game... I *almost* stopped playing it multiple times due to the sheer amount of cut scenes and shit..I get that they are trying to convey a story but FUCK!!!@ Leaving some things to the imagination and a little open ended is part of what makes an amazing game IMO.

Can't even play the new Assassin Creed games. I play for an hour or two and I'm like fuck this shit.. there's better/more interesting things I can play. That seems to be a common pattern I feel with a lot of Ubisoft's games lately.

Ya'll need to appreciate doom 3 for what it was. I hate when its called just a technical showcase, it hsd way more to it than the first dooms, all of the audio logs and shit made you actually feel like you were part of that doomed world.

OK wait a moment.
I thought the Far Cry games are from Crytek?
How does Ubisoft play into this?
Or did Crytek change their name to Ubisoft?

Ubi is the publisher, crytek the developer, pretty sure Ubi owns Crytek.

MGS was a epic unto its own right with relevant cut scenes telling a gripping story.  I beat it in one sitting because I had to know wtf happened the first time when I was 12 or so, whenever it came out.  Maybe 13-14 yrs old, but a good 16 years ago.

Im not sure when the first came out, I think late 98. I remember playing it on playstation and then had the second on xbox, raiden was gay so I stopped playing it half way through. The second wasnt anything like the first.

The first metal gear was mind blowing for me..I haven't really fucked with many of the rests.. I've played them but given up and never finished.

As for Watch Dogs, I found it interesting.. but its tricks and shit kind of get old and it all just feels kind of stale.. I feel the same way as everyone else too. It wasnt able to keep my attention that long. There are many games worth my time more.

Lol well in the ends that is really all that matters.  Don't get me wrong I liked them.  I hated the flashlight crap that made ZERO sense, along with a lot of other game issues.  They should have made Doom 3 like Prey.  Like hell is coming thru and fucking up the physics and switching gravity and portals are all over the place.  Prey, now THAT was a bad ass game.

The respawning of the monsters.. like having gone through an area and clearing it, they randomly coming out of other areas... and I understand that is a bit more realistic but they way it was handled and with the ammo when the game first game out it was just stupid.. Other than that i didnt keep my attention for a very long time. I did play quite a lengthy bit though. I should try it again sometime.. Anyhow I just felt they could have done so much better.

The MGS cut scenes were in good taste and I liked but seriously when I played I think MGS 4, there were soooo many like 30-40 minute cut scenes after moving two inches on the map, pissed me right the fuck off.
