Psilocybe Mexicana fruiting results * 1

This is my first time growing Psilocybe Mexicana. Previously my only experience has been with various cubes. There isn't much that I did differently compared to a standard tub or monotub cubensis tek. There is an in depth guide to sclerotia cultivation from stonesun called:  A Comprehensive Sclerotia Cultivation Guide - From Spore Print To Spore Prints, that can help if you want some sclerotia info.

Since I am not interested in consuming the sclerotia(stones) I skipped all that waiting for stones formation and just went right to it. I inoculated LC to WBS and let it colonize over a few days. Shook each jar once when it was around 15-20%. Once it reached 100% and thickened up after a week or so I spawned to a mix of coir, vermiculite, worm castings, cow poo(black cow), straw, gypsum and calcium carbonate limestone.

These are my 2nd and 3d tubs. I did a much better case on these compared to my first tub. I cased with 1:1 verm/spagh peat moss. The verm was finer and I pulverized the spagh moss more so overall my casing was of a finer mix. Which appears to have allowed for more pins to form these two tubs.


Here they are a day later.


And another day later.



Overall the potency of P.Mex is around 4-5x more than any of the cubes I've worked with. 17.5g fresh tea the first time was a ride like no other. When I opened my eyes it was very visual, prism view. But what was going on in my mind required eyes closed. A follow up half dose in a small social setting the next week was very complimentary as well.

Are these comparable in potency, to say, P.cubensis or PE?
Getting rid of any prints?

Pins started to form about 7-9 days after moving to fruiting conditions.

Not sure about how it compares to PEnvy. But it easily outhits the cubes of oak ridge, cambodian, mazapec and koh samui's I've worked with. The come up and ride is much smoother. Cubes make me want to get out of my body on comeup and at high doses. These actually makes it feel ok to have a body.

They are trays that are inside a standard monotub. I put some leca stones/hydroponic rocks in a thin layer in bottom of mtub to help maintain some moisture/humidity.

Here is a monotub of Atlantis(galandoi or whichever it's identified as), that I started shortly after the Mexi's. I've not tried these yet so I don't know how they compare. I hear the stones are more potent than the Mexicana's so I figure the fruits might be as well.

Im knocking up 3 plates with these right now!

Im going to get fifty or sixty jars to set aside for stones, but w as also going to fruit a tub for prints.

Do these prefer poo like pans do? Require a casing layer?

For a little over a month I let them colonize in the jar. Then about 10 days after mixing with substrate before I introduced into fruiting conditions.

Yes a casing layer is needed. I don't think you need the poo, but I use a mix of cow dung in mine.

And the taste when fresh. It's like a dry watermelon without the sweetness. Very peculiar.
