Cluster of Mushrooms found in local yard

I found over 100 mushrooms growing in 2 clusters. Couldn't make spore prints cause they are too mature. I live in SW Pennsylvania. Found them in a yard that has freshly cut pine trees and has sawdust and woodchips scattered around. The mushrooms were growing directly out of the soil. Here are a few pics.
That's all the pictures I could post because I maxed out the limit for file size. Let me know what they could be and if they are edibles and hopefully psychoactive. Oh lord let them be active shrooms! I'll have enough to last me a fucking year!

Those look to me to be Honey Mushrooms. Old ones.
Although Honey Mushrooms are edible, those look older than what I'd consider eating.
They should produce a white spore print.
Happy mushrooming!

Honey mushrooms, eh? I found another batch in another yard that was ready for fresh picking, it isn't fully mature, I'll have to take pics of that one and see if I can fully verify that they are honey mushrooms.

Look on the top of the cap, especially at the center, and see if there are tiny, erect, dark hairs there.
There should also be a cottony or membranous partial veil covering the gills in young specimens and forming a ring in older ones.
They need to have a white spore print (actually make one to be sure).
They grow only from wood, although the wood can be buried.
Happy mushrooming!

Since these grew from soil, then they cannot be honey mushrooms?

They can grow from buried wood like Toxicman said, even from roots and on living trees. You could taste them, they should have a nasty, soapy taste after chewing on them for a few seconds. Spit out when finished.

They're not just better with cooking - they're poisonous without. Make sure you thoroughly cook Honey Mushrooms before eating them.
Among the edible mushrooms, Honey Mushrooms cause more poisonings than any other species of mushroom. Some of the poisonings are individual reactions, many are cases of people not cooking them enough.

that's a good point TM. i know they are known to cause [sometimes severe] GI upset in most people if eaten raw. do you know of any more severe incidents?

My references only list GI upset. Of course, anybody already weakened would be at greater risk.
