Its been in the works for ages, and started out as a mod, looked like it was going to be released as a paid for game, but now they have released it completely for free as its own stand alone game!! If you like FPS/horror/survival/radiation/mutants you will love this

It bascially a re-working of the first STALKER game to make it more like it was always meant to be. adding a large number of new levels, rebuilding all existing levels, so they are now alot bigger. reworked story line, added mutants, weapons, items, and enhanced graphics. basicaly all the best of what mods have done for stalker and more in one package

I downloaded it. I haven't had time to play it today, but I'll give it a shot when I get home.
I've never played any of the stalker games, so I'm not sure what to expect!

It looks really good. I played shadow of chernobyl and call of pripyat, didn't finish either one but played them quite a bit. I really liked the first one in particular. The gun fights are so intense! Have you played this one yet? Wondering if it's worth it.

Have given it a go and reached as far as garbage. Its defiantley worth it! the levels are almost completely unrecognisable. even cordon has underground vaults! its pretty unforgiving as well. saving fox is alot harder than just shooting some dogs. lol.
already found a weird fucking mutant that made me freak out- which hasnt happened playing stalker for a while! lol.
its crashed on me a couple of times too so i suggest saving frequently . but patches should hopefully be coming out in the next few months and will sort that out!

Nvm, found them. Here's for anyone else who was wondering:

these are not the minimum req-s, they are for high settings, so if anyone lowers the graphics quality settings, slower pc will handle sl or even fdl mode.

If you turn the lighting to static and turn the other settings to minimum, you should be able to run it unless you have a truly terrible computer. it still looks good with low graphics settings

I just can't get the damn game to start on mine. Every time I start the setup it freezes at the very end of installation.

this happened to me aswell, but you just have to wait a long time and it eventualy installs. it gives the impression that it has installed 100% but it is still copying files.

cool,
make sure you download the most recent patch from modb( v1.30013 (3rd of May 2014.)) doesnt fix all the crashes but a fair few

I've patched the game and now I get stuck on the loading screen when using quickload. Currently I'm living with the standard save/load process, but I'm not too hard away from setting this game down for a few months until further patches are released.
Highly recommend this game though
