Sounds good to me. I've never gone mushroom hunting before but I'm in need of a hobby and this looks fun. I've got a creek in my backyard and a cow pasture less than 10 min walk away, plus the Chattahoochee river right next to my neighborhood. Now I'm just hoping for lots of rain.

Im not sure of the nearest stream though...it's gotta be a couple miles at least, and then it probably private property

well I put like 1.50 in the gas tank and checked out a couple of spots. Hunted for a couple of hours. Nothin! The creek I hunted looked almost perfect for it...well part of it. The bank was grassy and flat like 20 feet outside of the stream. I didn't see any knotweed and not many places for woodchips. I went further up and found a spot where I could tell had flooded and then looked in spots with dead wood and shade.

I knew this would happen lol...it's like they show up everywhere but HERE. Idk maybe just wrong habitat. I didn't see knotweed anywhere. and I can't identify hardwood trees.

How does this type of habitat look to you guys? Not quite right?

i went hunting for 3 hours this morning didnt find anything but some inkcaps and some gallerinas i found 3 yesterday in the habitat u should try areas where canopy is more developed

im about to go hunting in wv at the city park found some decent looking spots and 2 gallerina about a week and a half ago u think mountain streams are worth cheking

I might go out one more time later on today and head further up that way in the picture. I went the opposite way mostly which was mostly wooded and with a steep embankment.

there was like a 5 foot sheer bank then flat grounds with alot of ivy and mossy wood underneath
