I posted earlier in the thread about two bacteria tubs ...I ended up crumbling the one and flipping the other just to see what would happen(after they had fruited aTON on top) I just pulled a 98 gram MONSTER off the crumpled one. Just figured I'd update. Thing was a BEAST!!!

Did you see any sort of growth besides knotting on the surface?

So today it seems like those patches I was talking about at just turning into clusters of pins. The tub seems to be doing really good. Looks like it's gonna be a pretty thick pinset.

I'm glad to see its fruiting for you. Looks like you might get some mutants.

I've heard that. I did case it because I read it cuts down on the first flush mutants. I'm going to start casing all my aa+ tubs that aren't already fruiting. I just wanted to make sure they wouldn't go to shit before the first flush.

casing is awesome. i like the smell of peat more than coir also, if u r using peat based casing. u also don't have to worry about too much FAE with a cased tub, let the fans fly!

I've just been using the jiffy mix on my PE tubs. I'm just gonna roll with that

i always gotta make my own, cause all the premixed potting soil available around me have coir/coconut husk in it. i know u can case with coir and i know it can work well, it just never did for me like peat/verm/lime did.

I think the jiffy mi I use has that in it. That must be why the mycelium is ripping through it so fast. Is that defeating the purpose of the casing then?
