Great day out west of the Blue Mountains yesterday, saw some ground that had no actives 3 weeks ago start to produce. There seemed to be 2 very species of actives and after getting home I realize I left a lot behind as the blueing took some time to come out in some.. It was absolutely freezing cold and actually snowing for a while with strong wind so my hunting trips were short then had to warmup before going out again. Would like some help identifying the ones on the plate pictures (they all showed blueing)
Couldn't find any blueing on these ones

Nice finds. Your first 4 pictures all look like Psilocybe subaeruginosa.
Couldn't find any blueing on these ones
The first picture here does not include any Subaeruginosas, so probably not active. Not sure about the 2nd and 3rd pictures.

Are the first 4 photos of a Psilocybe species? Definitely look like it to me. Some pretty clear bruising there imo. If not subs, what are they?

Joust was agreeing that those last 3 photos are not Psilocybe subaeruginosa. The first 2 photos are subs. I can't see enough of the mushrooms in photos 3-4 be certain but they are probably subs.

First 4 pics are psilocybe subaeruginosa with a cluster of hypholoma fasciculare growing behind the lone sub in the 4th pic. The last 3 pics appear to be 1. leratiomyces ceres 2. Unsure(Possibly leratiomyces) ceres 3. hypholoma fasciculare

You did get lucky! Check number 6 for blue bruising. All others pictured are psilocybe subaeruginosa.

hey people.
It's my second year on the hunt. I had very little luck last season and after several trips out ended up with only A handful of subs and two semilanceata(I agree that liberty caps are out there, I found them in a garden over run with grass). I'm definitely hoping for better luck this time round.
Anyway I'm heading for a little camping trip to the central west region tomorrow and conditions seem Good, just making sure I should be on the lookout. Is there confirmed accounts of psilocybes in this area... I'm still I bit of a newb and don't know how specific I can be with location.

Hey guys,
New here. Went up blue mountains way on the weekend. Still waiting for some more rain. Some help confirming species would be much appreciated.
Psilocybe subaeruginosa or Panaeolus cyanescens ? Unsure exactly
Found in a temperate rainforest, with a leafy ground cover. Only ones around the area. Grey colour, with blueing on cap and stem.
Amanita muscaria
Underneath Cypress Pines, sitting amongst pine trees. Others surrounding them.
Psilocybin subaeruginosa or old amanita muscaria
These were sitting in the same pine needles as the amanita muscaria. Gold coloured cap, with white stem and ring.
Lastly I'm thinking these are amanita muscaia, however they had no stem and were just sitting in the pine needles.
Cheers.

From the Blue Mountains also.. were sure of this being a blue meanie but after being damaged on the nipple and around the cap itsself, its showing signs of red? It even had the blue collar just beneath the cap. Only shroom found within a 100m square vicinity.

Yes, season has started..
This is from a small patch me and another member here knocked up about three years ago now. We have 4 of these patches spread out over sydney. Last year this patch went an amazing 300g upon first inspection of the season.
Not bad considering they are all less than a 30x30cm footprint each.. anyway some pics of the first few poking their head up. Btw we have had 17c for the last 4 days here, before that was still stinking fucking hot.. mid 20's and warm nights..
Time to get a few more started, and i got just the perfect areas!
