All of them have their own merits. I don't prefer any one over the other. If I could get all the exclusive games from xbox and PS on PC then i would do that.. but you can't, so I enjoy all of them.

I was going to say that origen is the worst, but TBH, PC gaming can't afford such divisions. While the exclusives would be nice, I would just say that, IMHO, many console games are dumbed down in order for consoles to accept them. In terms of space, and performance.
Take Crysis. Great game, with the obligatory "But can it run Crysis?", it was released for PC in '07. While it was ahead of it's time, and many top PCs struggled to play it, it took till '11 to port it to xbox and ps.
As far as each ahving merit, xbox has multiplayer, but only to a certain extent. Steam and TF2 and CS:GO are alive and kicking.
What does PS(4) have? IMO, only superior hardware and price in comparison with Live. PSN sucks...
But like you said, the exclusives for each platform are the only thing that really make any sort of difference, again IMO.

They all have there own merits because they always end up with a ton of exclusive games to that specific console.. they always do. Also you're crazy if you think PSN sucks lol, playstation plus is absolutely incredible.

I like them all. I like the xbox controller vs a mouse/key and vs the PS controller, which is why I tend to play xbox more. But I definitely love playing all the games... don't own a PS3/4 though
Don't see me buying an xbox 1 or a PS4 really anytime soon... no games coming out on them that makes me drool that would be worth that crazy pricetag

old xbox, $40 used, got mine for free (would have been thrown out else):
has 250GB hd built in
nes,snes,n64,amiga,sega,psx games it runs perfectly
I got a SNES controller to play the original marios with
I got donkey kong country, killer instinct, star fox, mario1,2,3, zelda, mortal kombat 2,halo,...
perfectly emulated
nuf said 
also it plays videos from shares, so if you got a NAS you can play 20TB moves on it
it came with a free remote too
who needs HD / hd graphics? all the good games are already made
wouldn't trade mine for a PS3 or xbox360
the emulated graphics and sound is better than on the original nes,snes , and as good as the n64
nes had a bad video output, xbox has much better picture/sound in mario etc. / no blur
it can go on youtube too, run ftp server etc. or you can install linux on it
the new xbox360 is not as good as that, hard to hack/mod, you cant customize much
only use it for emulator games(nes,snes,n64 primarily) and movie watching, never play original xbox games on it anymore they were boring compared to emulated games

sensible soccer is the best soccer game ever created, even though 20yrs old almost, still beats the newest fifa hands down , both graphics and gameplay, not pixellated, perfect graphics

Where is the wiiu?
I feel like console gaming a dying breed. More focus is put on the family entertainment center bs and I really couldn't give a shit about that. The new Xbox didn't even feel like it was marketed as a gaming system at all.
PC and nintendo for me. I'd only get a console to play certain exclusives. And then sell it immediately after I'm done playing.

I think the last question is flawed.
If a PC preformed only the same tasks as the other options, and the PC was the same price as the others, i think the last question would have different results.

Xbox/PS is better for playing with your friends, PC generally has better games.

PC by a longshot. I built my pc like 4 years ago and spent around 700 total, including a fat ass monitor, and I can still run any game max settings.

I don’t have a single PC game that lets you go split screen, not too mention i would not want to go split screen on my monitor anyway. Thats what the 60’ flatscreen is for.
