I need to get a new power supply.. and a new graphics card. I know what graphics card I want but I don't know shit about power supplies and I'd have to have someone else put it in for me.

What GPU are you looking at getting? That will determine what kind of PSU you will need.
In general I would recommend Seasonic, they tend to have some of the highest quality PSUs in the market. And that is what you want with a PSU - high quality. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151111 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151120 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817151121
It's not that hard to replace / swap a PSU. Remove old connections, put in new PSU, route cables. plug in connections. Take maybe 30 mins. Depending on your case or how OCD you are will determine what type of cable management..

fully agree on seasonic, but is also worth mentioning there are quite a lot of rebranded seasonic PSUs on the market.... http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/power-supply-oem-manufacturer,2913.html
this link is pretty useful, make sure to look at corsair, a couple antecs, be-quiet, pc power & cooling, xfx amongst other for _specific_ models (companies like antec make tons of crap too so you need to know what you're buying in such instances).
corsair pumps out a handful, i have one w/ my AX-850, fully modular and it's a very slick PSU as well Corsair has top notch tech/warranty support... all the older TX line from Corsair was Seasonic, but lately they've used some not so impressive power supplies in some of their new PSUs in their new modular TX line, and the RM series isn't anything to write home about either..... so if you want quality it's really best to do a little research or just buy the self-branded seasonic and be done with it w/ Shroomism's links...

case makes a huge difference in such regards, i have one of most expensive corsair midtower cases (650d) and the cheapest (i think) 200r and both are kick ass to work with, some older cases like the antec 900 i owned a half a dozen years ago are just a nightmare for cables, longer graphics cards etc.

EVGA GeForce GTX780 SuperClocked 3GB GDDR5 384bit, Dual-Link DVI-I, DVI-D, HDMI,DP, SLI Ready Graphics Card (03G-P4-2783-KR) Graphics Cards 03G-P4-2783-KR EVGA
This one is 520$ something and I was looking at it for a while.
but basically anything around this price range would be fine. I was going to get a regular one not overclocked but I doubt ill ever do sli. I'm not the greatest at understanding hardware lol.

will games you play immediately benefit? could always wait for maxwell if you're gonna plunk down a phat stack.....
anyways, i'd power that with nothing less than a solid seasonic 650w psu

I want more than a 650 for sure. 800 I figure or something. I run 3 monitors and usually run my tv cloned with one of them for gaming so I'm sure it would benefit but i broke the hdmi out on my current card so kinda need to get a new one soon. I dont know what maxwell is either lol

780 should be a good card for any current games
But if you want something future proof, they just announced a 780 6GB in the works, you may want to hold for that. It should be great for many years to come with that much VRAM regardless of your setup. I'm guessing it will be like 150 or so more than the regular card. For multi monitor setups especially you will benefit from that.
Or do like CJ said, and wait until Maxwell hits. I have a feeling the 800 series we may start seeing a lot more VRAM
For PSU any one of those Seasonics I linked should be super solid. Go with Platinum or Gold efficiency rating with the PSU

well, your monitors are powered by their own power supplies heh, the card itself can only draw 250w, you are recommended by nvidia to have a 600w power supply, and if you add 100w for safe room that is sensible but still there are tons of cheap flakey power supplies on the market so i'd take a 600w one a 90+ score on johnny guru before I just bought a crap 800w psu... all of the seasonics linked in shroomism's post are quite nice and would be reliable for your rig...... and they're all also fully modular.... if it's gonna make you paranoid about it get the 760w one in the middle I guess..... but if you're only running one card, meh at buying the SS-860XP2

I'm getting all that ram to max out the motherboard ill probably start with half and get the other half later I'm getting that much ram for video editing audio recording and of course gaming probably try some 3d rendering and stuff of that nature

I'll have to research that since I've never heard of it until you both mentioned it. Either way, I'm not sitting at my desk often right now so running one monitor and my TV is working perfectly fine. It was mainly just trying to know that it's not busted and get it fixed and out of the way but I think waiting would prove extremely beneficial so I will get the power supply and just hold out for now.

since its the new line of chips they will most likely start out releasing a high end card, then the rest of the line will come out shortly thereafter that has a full range just like the 600 and 700 series.
