Games like Tomb Raider 2013?
    #19744838 - 03/25/14 11:15 AM (10 years, 5 days ago)

I need some game suggestions. I've already played Uncharted and Far Cry, not sure what else there is

:whathesaid:
Are you just interested in third person action/adventure?

The Last of Us would be good if you like that type of game. I really don't know any other games similar to that that have been released recently.

Far Cry is 1st person actually, but I guess I'm more used to third person. Action/adventure for sure though.

I honestly don't know why there isn't more games that fit that profile.. That and stealth action stuff like the Metal Gear series is pretty much limited to just a few games and I don't see why.. Metal Gear I can see why a little more but as far as Action/Adventure? I don't understand why it's not used more often.

I think it's mostly because of replayability. Not everybody's gonna want to play through and adventure game after they've already done it once before. Then the sense of "adventure" is totally eliminated. Now people are more concerned with whether or not a game is "worth it", and a lot of them get butt hurt when there aren't hours and hours of online content.

To me, a game can be as replayable as you make it, but I guarantee I won't be playing the same adventure more than twice, you know?

Dishonored is a cool stealth/action game.  ITs first person also but I had a blast playing through it.

That makes sense but games don't have to be just about replayability. Some of the best games I've ever played have little to no replay value but whatever. I know you know what I mean but a lot of newer gamers can't grasp that concept.

Exactly true. Like I said, too many people get butt hurt when there's no online gameplay, but some of the best games are just single player. The Last of Us is a perfect example of that.

Just finished Tomb Raider, it was an awesome game! Dishonored was a disappointment, as was The Last of Us.

Also, Bioshock Infinite was a bore. A cartoony FPS game, I'd rather stick with Borderlines 2.
LoU was a typical "escort a girl around" game, dunno what was supposed to be so super about it

The story? And the emotional build up of the characters? I was shooting zombies and into the story too much to call it  a typical escort a girl around game.. but everoyne has their preferences.. But I would be lying if I said it wasn't somewhat odd.. Not that you didn't like those games but that you liked borderlands 2 more.. I enjoy borderlands 2 but its an FPS hybrid like many before it although taken to greater lengths.

Obviously if you prefer Borderlands then you lack sense of a developmental narrative and character development. Bioshock and The Last of Us have some of the best character development that differentiates them so well from your typical "team up with others and shoot shit" games.

Pretty much what Taco just said.  Of course I also love borderlands and borderlands 2, but the 'story' for those 2 games doesn't really compare to the writing and story of bioshock or the last of us.
