Tai Chi on LSD
    #19149345 - 11/17/13 11:42 AM (10 years, 4 months ago)

I know a lot of people on the Shroomery enjoy meditating while tripping, which is divine for me. I find it much easier to lose body awareness and slip into a deeper meditative state.

On Friday, I was on one tab of WoW blotter, and after meditating I decided to practice some Tai Chi. It seemed to be easy to flow with the movements and feel my Chi moving throughout my spiritual body.

Has anyone else done Tai Chi while tripping? I found it to be very relaxing and incredibly rejuvenating.

Absolutely! I love ambient music. It was also very calming to listen to Ravi Shankar's recordings. The sitar has a wonderful sound to it, and it seems to help push me deeper into a peaceful meditative state!

I do not have experience with Thai chi, but during my last trip I held a few yoga poses with deep breathing and whatnot and it was, as you said, divine. Is Thai chi difficult to learn?

Were you making up your own tai chi moves or were they moves you learned already(directed at anyone)

Also did any of the tai chi moves unlock any thing in the body or mind, unlock any energies?

Same questions goes for person who mentioned yoga.

What was the experience of chi like moving through your body?

Did you feel able to manipulate the chi of the outer world with your movements?

Did you feel especially tunes in to the chi of the outer world, receive any impressions?

I occasionally do some yoga. I really like the flow but I just cant seem to get into a meditative state after.

The yoga usually boosts the trip up and I get too distracted for sitting still.

This was all during the come-up of my last LSD trip on one tab of very strong WoW.

I was doing basic silk reeling exercises because they don't require you to memorize a long sequence of moves in a form and I find them to be very meditative.

After that I started doing the Chen style "Old Frame" form first routine, "lao jia li yu" but by the time I started getting into it, the trip was coming on too strong and my hands were shaking too badly to continue.  had to sit down and meditate a little bit.

And yes, Ravi Shankar is AMAZING trip music.  SO is Dub.  Therefore, i give you a dub song that samples ravi shankar:

I had learned Tai Chi from a master I used to see, who taught me all the movements that I know. I could almost "see" the Chi while I was bending it and moving with it, and it looked to me like a purple mist flowing like smoke along my body.

After meditating and doing Tai Chi, I looked out my window and felt that I could sense the spiritual energy flowing around in the air. My town's energy is a bit dull, but a select few people radiate their love throughout the city.

Also, thanks for the song, gornyhuy! That's actually a really cool mix!

I have done some Qigong.  While on LSD once I started doing some free-flow and the energy very quickly got nearly out of control.  I would recommend sticking with known, comfortable, low-energy forms and practices at first.

That said I am very interested in psychedelically modulated martial and energetic practice.

Favorite entheogen experiences in descending order:
1)Combo of oral DMT + smoked Bufotenine
2)Amanita (urine drank twice)
3)Mushrooms > Achuma 16"+cid(still need higher dose Achuma)> Cid (still need high dose)
4)Morning Glory-HBWR (+cumin, cinnamon aldehyde adducts) > Methyl chavicol (need more activators)
5)Salvia (need to try quid)

All readable matter in the above post is ficticious... any similarities to real life are purely coincidental.

Blessing.

What style of tai chi do you know?  I can always feel my chakras on mushrooms.  I haven't done a lot of LSD.

Interesting... after about 20 minutes my hands were shaking so bad I had to stop the form.  I assumed it was just because I was getting way to amped up from the 'stim' side of the LSD onset.  I wonder if it was due to the tai chi now.

Chen Style... I'm just a noob, only been training for a couple years.  I've done harder forms of various martial arts for decades, but only recently got into the 'internal' arts.

I went for a walk recently on shrooms and weed and I felt like my body was a glowing stick figure - I could feel all my chakras glowing and interconnecting and I could feel all the details of muscle tension and energy flow through my body as I walked. It was incredible - like cheating at energy work.

The man who I was taught by was actually an older friend of mine who learned from his own master. He taught me a wide range of different movements, but I believe a majority of them were Chen and Yang style. I would like to learn more as well at some point from a real master, as what I already know has helped me very much so far!

:mushroomgrow:I always feel my chakra on mushrooms, but I haven't actually tried meditating or practicing Tai Chi on them yet; I was usually with other people, and/or my boyfriend. However, I plan to try it soon!

I wonder what Chi is. I guess you could say energy or spiritual energy but that doesn't fully explain it, it just renames it.

Good call! My master is (of course) totally biased to Chen style, but I've never practiced any other form of tai chi so I don't have anything to compare to personally.

Even after many many years of hard and soft form martial arts from Japan and Korea, just 2 years of Tai Chi has had a huge impact on my balance, my efficiency of motion, and most of all my ability to be soft and relaxed and 'natural' in my movements.  It was definitely a big missing piece of my hard form.

There are actually hundreds of types of Chen style.  Some people practice with the explosive movements and a lot of people deleted the jumping kicks and stamping.
I like the Fu style out of all the soft tai chi styles.  It's based on Yang style.
Tai chi is definitely good for a hard martial artist.  It's good for feeling chi.  I had years of experience practicing weapons and hands slowly and still gained much insight from tai chi, which is unique in the martial arts.
Thanks for sharing your experience.
