I recently ordered some ephedra extract, and instead of the extract they sent me the root, I cannot use the root, for what I wanted the ephedra in the first place for, and I don't just want to throw it away, as it cost 40 dollars. I know the mormons drink ephedra tea, because they arn't allowed to have caffine, but I cant find a recipe anywhere. Does anyone know a good recipe?

I don't think you got roots. I think leaves/stems...
I copied this from a smartshop site:
USAGE
Making mormon tea is easy. For two cups take 10 grams of ephedra-herb and let it boil for 10 minutes. Then filter out the herb, for instance in a coffee filter. You now have two cups of mormon tea. If necessary add sugar to taste.
WARNINGS
Ephedra can cause insomnia, nervousness, heart-problems and high blood pressure. Do not take more than 4 capsules daily. Never take ephedra when pregnant or diabetic, if you have a heart-disease or high blood-pressure. Do not combine ephedra with asthma medication or MAO-inhibitors like anti-depressants or yohimbe. Do not use ephedra for longer than two months.

Sorry I put it in the wrong forum. I defenately know I got the root, it is still a root. Also does that site say how many mgs of ephedrine would be in each cup? I know that good ephedra is susposed to be about 8% ephedrine by weight, but I would like conformation on that. Thanks for the help so far.

I think most ephedra extracts like in those energy pills are 8% ephedrine by weight...
