Sounds like you've got the process right :thumbup:

You could probably just use 80 proof and be fine, your final mixture if half tincture / half decoction should be 20% alcohol which is enough.  I can't think of anything in the absinthe that would hurt anything though :shrug:

Make sure to calculate your volumes so that the final mixture is over 20% abv and you're good to go!

Is distillation feasible? If you really want to use absinthe, anything that has a high abv will work, but you might get some funky flavors.

I've decided to ditch the absinthe don't think I want a green tincture that tastes odd lol I've ordered a bottle of white rum called wray and nephews that's 63% Abv.

I'll update the thread with pictures in the near future when the reishi/alcohol arrives.

Wouldn't regular 80 proof vodka work just fine?

Seems to be mixed opinions on this... from what I've read 80 proof vodka should work but I'm going with 120 proof because I assume it will make a stronger tincture.

I've been reading how vitamin C helps with the absorption of polysaccharides so I'm curious would it be a good idea to add vitamin C powder to the jar? and if so should I add it from the start or the finished tincture?
