Mushroom Gel Cap Question

I am currently packing gel caps full of freshly ground dried psilocybe cubensis. I just hit 3.6g packed total, but it took about an hour. I am getting the powder into a pile on a piece of sturdy paper, then encasing the mushroom matter by pushing the two ends of gel cap together over and over until it looks full, then stuffing it down even further with the end of a lollipop stick. Is there a faster way without buying a capping machine? :frown:

That's funny I was actually doing the exact same thing a few minutes ago with 3.5 grams, I do it the same exact way except I use the end of pen to pack it in.

It took you an hour? Jeez, only takes me like 25 minutes.

You could buy a capsule filling machine, they also have those hand held pollen presses for hash that make little 1 gram pellets. I've never used either though so I don't know how well they work.

Thanks for the input. Yea I packed a total of 4.8g today in just under an hour (56 minutes approx). I'm not finished packing those little suckers I'm thinking of doing a 6g+ trip soon.

I powderize then pour in a ziplock, I use the guts of a mechanical pencil to pack them and ill hold the pill from the outside of the bag.
I can pack at least 1 a minute packed as tight as can be.

I would just invest in a capsule machine. saves a lot of time if it's taking you forever. i bought mine at my local health food store but i'm sure you could probably find one cheaper online. a few weeks ago i packed  like 24 grams in about 15-20 min. thats with using the coffee grinder to get a nice fine powder. i sill have plenty left. i keep them in an airtight jar with a package of desiccant. i think you could pack around 2 ozs in an hour with a filling machine if you tried hard enough.

Awesome good to know I just might invest in one, was waiting to hear from someone again how well they work.
On the bright side I'm probably dosing about 2g in a tea tonight :smile:

oh they work wonders. the one i bought fits 24 caps at a time and comes with a tamper to tamp all 24 at once. i think it's well worth the investment.
